Can't we let these things come out first? Seriously, let the PS4 and 720 release and see how they do on the market. There's no point on making these Pachter-like statements when we don't even know what the 720 will be like or what games it will have.
Keep in mind I'm not saying it CAN'T win, I'm saying it MIGHT win, same as the PS4.
Obviously the Wii U is not perfect, but it has perks, particularly if you were a general consumer who owned a Wii.
"Why would I want to buy the 'new Wii' for my kid?"
"It plays your old Wii games, it has new games with better graphics, it supports multiple accounts for if you have more than one user, it has games kids and adults would like, etc."
Nintendo's advertising has been pretty bad. I haven't seen so...
Any company needs to innovate to stay relevant. I think Sony's social network ideas are pretty solid. I honestly don't mind it using lower than expected specs if it 1) helps the system be more affordable and more competitive in the market and 2) helps keep Sony in the black more so than the PS3 did in its initial years.
The graphics for the upcoming exclusives look just under the par of CGI movies, so honestly do not mind what they're doing right now and I'm s...
Ugh, hopefully. I've been wondering when that would happen.
He says he laughed at the question because that was never part of their plan or something I think. My guess is people got on his case because when he made that statement it was not really clear.
A lot of folks around here interpreted it as "he's laughing because the Wii U can't support it because it's weak" which wasn't really the case in context. They just were never behind Wii U because it's not as powerful as the new consoles coming out and Ep...
While we're at it, let me take the time to debunk your shitty conspiracy theory and it's all a simple matter of a few clicks.

You don't think for two seconds I would have been trying to boost the account I've had longer ASSUMING that's what I made it for?
Secondly despite being on N4G for less time I've ...
@MikeMyers
Nintendo's schedule is usually fairly solid when it comes to software. If they announce a game at E3, it's usually out within the next two years, sometimes the following year.
I initially had a 360, now it's a PS3 for my multiplats.
I'm one of those folks who thought it would be different for Wii U, but sadly it's turning out to be exactly the opposite case. Either way, like you said; best of both worlds.
While we're at it, why don't we just fire every employee at Nintendo with a sense and career of direction? Sakamoto I'm indifferent on. He's been a part of some really good games, but his writing on Other M was terrible.
"Like I said above, Zelda was once COOL."
You realize a statement like this is subjective, right? Not everyone has to (or even would) agree with that. Like Mario, Zelda has held a positive stance in the industry for ...
Single player games 'can' be good or great. Multiplayer games have that same potential. Even games with both single and multiplayer have the potential. It all depends on how much time, money and effort is put into it.
Bioshock/Bioshock Infinite - good single player games.
Borderlands, Left 4 Dead - solid multiplayer games
Halo, Call of Duty - well developed single and multiplayer games (even if CoD is the same thing over and over).
It's pretty difficult to find a brand that doesn't have a group of people with a larger sense of loyalty. That's really the way it is in this day and age. The issue is trying to find two of different fandoms in the same forum who will converse respectably. That tends to be rare, but thankfully not absent.
Whoops, my bad. I have no idea why I put Nintendo instead of Disney. My brain was thinking one thing while my hands were typing another.
That depends on preference, doesn't it?
Yes, because I have the time and patience to make alt. accounts for myself. /s
"Nice alt, someone informed me about how you've been using it desperately in the last few hours to back-up every statement you've made while pretending to not be your alt account. So, I checked it out, and yeah, almost every single comment Poprocks has made all night has been followed u by his alt scissor_runner. You gotta find more productive things to do with your spare time, than to...
I think it's an issue of what would have been considered "decent" news now being considered "bad news." The sales doubled with the release of games that are not even considered must-haves that are even available on other, cheaper Nintendo hardware. Not huge, like you said, but certainly not even remotely bad.
It is what it is though, I guess.
@Hicken
Chill out boyo. I missed that part of the comment obviously.
Either way, even without release dates, I don't think we should discount those games. They're going to be shown around E3 and unlike other publishers, Nintendo has a tendency to keep a fairly strict schedule. If they're being showcased, they'll probably be released within two years of the show, in some cases less than one.
I'm rather surprised you did not bring up the supposed failure of Tomb Raider and a couple of other large scale games that were deemed failures despite selling in the millions.
Part of what worries me is that games become more expensive to make but are not earning more money in the process. If current trends continue, we can potentially see another crash because of not only the monotony we see with big budget games (such as Call of Duty and Assassin's Creed) but also ...
Granted, that's not necessarily bad. I like the way the series expands visually. That prevents it from being too monotonous. Honestly, try convincing me that Majora's Mask and Wind Waker (outside of sword combat) are anything alike.
You're aware the DS/wDS are a part of Iwata's resume, right? Iwata is part of the reason the Wii did not wind up exactly like the N64 and the GCN. More so, Iwata has aided in the development of many highly acclaimed Nintendo software.
By demanding his resignation, you're asking Nintendo to practically shoot itself in the foot.
@silkrevolver
Games of those caliber do often get marketed towards men, but that certainly doesn't mean that women cannot enjoy them. Call of Duty has a reputation of being for the "fratboy" gamer. I know more than a couple of women who enjoy the game though, as well as other AAA 'core' games, like Assassin's Creed (which I think could be considered more gender ambiguous with its marketing).
