Actually, I think he was saying it as in "Sony fanboys wishing that so they have a reason to bash the console" sort of context.

I guess it could be that. I personally don't want to sling any mud until after I know for sure if Microsoft is implementing it.

It's usually the same people who generally don't like the Wii U and their comments are often very formulaic.

Not to mention they're not exactly friendly a lot of the time.

That's an odd comparison... but it made me laugh.

To be fair, I think it has just as much to do with games. Monster Hunter, Lego City, Dragon Quest and Need for Speed were made available in a variety of different regions just this month as well as the price cut you mentioned.

Funnily enough, the 3DS sold fairly slowly prior to a price cut and the release of its two biggest Mario games (3D Land and Kart 7) to date. The Wii U has seen a small boost like the 3DS and the Vita since these new games and its price cut in the UK.

Dude, I've been saying this for a couple of months now lol. Bubbles for you.

If a product is released in a manner that seems unfinished then it's certainly open to criticism. The Wii U's OS and launch games are another example of this.

Spectacular Spider-man was also canned after two seasons which was a bummer. Ultimate should have been better, but... well, you probably know what I mean.

I didn't mind The Batman. It was okay as far as a show that was trying its hardest to be a new Batman TAS. Nothing great, but I didn't hate it either.

With Batman TAS (or rather DC Animated Universe) you can argue existed for almost a decade since it, Superman TAS, Batman Beyond, Justice League and ...

The new TT show looks okay. The shorts they made in that style were cute.

As for "Beware the Batman," it looks terrible IMO. Maybe it can surprise me like Brave and the Bold did, but I doubt it. I'll stick with Young Justice until that show runs its course.

Perhaps. I suppose we'll see a year or so down the line. I don't necessarily agree with that mentality considering the 3DS and Vita go for similar markets, but you may well be right.

Whether or not the platforms are comparable to anyone, I don't think anyone can truly predict this system as a total failure or success at this point. Presently it's inching along without any large scale games behind it but it has several first party IPs heading its way. If it doe...

Super Metroid for $.30... that's a steal if ever I've heard of one. Personally I'm also curious about N64 VC games on the gamepad. That's what I've been itching for most.

I don't believe the two console launches are the same at all and you make some good points here. However my point has consistently been that like the PS3, the 3DS and just about any other recent platform that started off rather badly, the Wii U can turn its financial pace around. It has not even been out for half a year.

If you want a better sales comparison, the Vita had been selling very similar numbers to the Wii U and is even closer in its initial price range. Since i...

I didn't know that either. Certainly a shame if it's true, but then that's what my PC/PS3 are for.

...is that a Lego Sandman? Well, I'm sold.

I'm surprised it's about "who did it first" as oppose to "who did it best."

Nintendo didn't do motion control first. Hell, they weren't even the first company with a mascot. Doesn't mean they didn't help popularize and improve upon a lot of these concepts.

I know people who think the Atari 2600 is the first video game console ever. You have these misconceptions thrown around a lot and it's because history can be...

"Seriously what's with all these reboots, if you are going to change so much create a new IP, don't change an old one so you can use the franchises name to sell more copies."

I agree and disagree with that to an extent. A new IP is not an established franchise with a fanbase. It can't sell without a great deal of marketing. Many of the most successful games of 2012 were sequels. Two indie games which walked away with many GotY awards were Journey and The...

Still though, it's nice to see those games as part of the charts, however big or small they may be. At least people have noticed and started to pick them up.

Of course, you can't beat a $.30 VC game either lol.

I'm with you on that. I'm not a hue fan of CoD's multiplayer. Sadly though that's what carries the experience for much of the community. The multiplayer seems to be the driving force (Kotick once even suggested it become a paid subscription).

I'm more of a fan of the campaigns. I like the stories presented in them in the same way someone may enjoy a Michael Bay film. It's popcorn entertainment and makes for a very solid rental IMO.

This show is extremely solid. A very faithful counterpart from Teen Titans (which was an alright show in its own quarky way). I wonder if this RPG would be any good? License tie-in games have their reputation and all, but I'd really like for this to be good.

It doesn't seem like something any manufacturer would do unless they were sure their competition would do it as well, and as far as I know Sony has no intention to do that with the PS4.

I guess we'll soon see. I look forward to seeing a confirmation of some kind so we can put this rumor to rest.

What about Team Fortress 2? World of Warcraft and other such multiplayer games? Those games achieved a great deal of notoriety as just multiplayer experiences with fairly large install bases.

Certain multiplayer experiences can be expanded upon. For example, I think Call of Duty would be better off as a FTP experience where your financial support for the game is through DLC. The multiplayer is largely what carries that game, not the single player.

You are cer...
