Still waiting on amazon.ca to get ps4's in again. The wait has been ridiculous. None of the stores have it in around here, so it seems like my best bet. It's 450 for the x1 and titanfall? Not bad. Still not interested, but I'll tell my friend. He won't jump to ps4 because of the hundreds of hours he has invested into achievements lol.
64 gb release in NA please. Not feeling the play-asia route and I need to move up from the 4 that came with it asap.
He's right. Nothing they have released including XIV has the level of creativity and depth they used to offer in their golden age. However, I expect/hope for redemption with this game because Tetsuya Nomura is the man...enough said.
@abzdine
Completely agree. The old school FF style was the apotheosis of RPGs. Now, they rely too much on cheese and glorifying the action (basically ruining the battle system and seizing all credibility and realism from the ...
Yeah KZ1 had some strength in the story department. It still wasn't very good and the horrible gameplay and graphics didn't help it either lol. By the time I get this game a lot of those MP kinks will hopefully be worked out. I really hope I enjoy it. KZ2 was my favourite FPS of the generation followed CoD4 and Halo 3.
"I've always found his stories kinda hackneyed and uninspired, especially when he eschews all semblance of context in favor of classic cinematic tropes and cliches."
Wow... I'm back in English class and that pretentious kid with the scarf is going on another useless rant about "the dichotomy between x and y".
I don't know what you're getting at. The majority of video games don't have great stories. Most shooters like Co...
I enjoyed their walking dead game but it was far from goty material and I think some people have gone overboard with the praise. Heavy Rain was at least twice as cinematic and I wouldn't say either game blew me away story-wise. The walking dead game used the franchise as a crutch in terms of story and it only really came into its own as a decent story in the last episode. Also, you're going to be more on the edge of your seat when zombies are constantly busting in. Not to mention the ...
I agree. Their Japan studio is making a comeback so we can hope.
Yeah I haven't even played it yet. I held off because I knew this was an inevitability. Will probably include dlc or whatever too which will be nice.
Man I think I'm getting to that point where I need to pop in MGS4 or U2 again. Glorious games!
lol quite handy. We were all talking celsius though I'm sure ;). Haven't used Kelvin in so long...I miss breaking bad.
Hardly man. Maybe because Americans are the most notorious for doing it. I have been told to f*** off simply for being Canadian online and I've had friends cursed at and called damn Canadians for simply beating someone online. That kind of hatred only comes out of the U.S. for some reason (as far as hatred towards Canada). If I meet someone from Europe or somewhere else they get stoked if you're Canadian. If you play with someone in Asia they just don't communicate at all lol (min...
I feel like Dedicated has somewhat of a point as far as rushing the games out. I agree Sony had to rush out Killzone and maybe even Knack, but they made some stronger choices. I think Infamous and Driveclub both could have been rushed to make the bracket as launch games (or at least Q4 2013). However, sony was smart about it and the ps4 will likely end up with the best open world game and maybe (if Driveclub turns out amazing as well) the best driving game too... all at the expense of a a few...
Have to agree sadly... MGS5 looks nothing like MGS4 in the worst ways possible. Open world was a good idea, but the super fast running, slow down time when you're discovered, the ridiculous melee attacks, and the over the top explosions and action are all killing the MGS name imo.
Not to mention the characters which just strike me as plain stupid for the most part...and the plot holes (a weapon greater than metal gear before metal gear = wtf?).
I'd like to take the comment as a joke but I have taken so much racist flack when playing games online. Many people in the US have some deep-seeded ignorance where they think that Canadians are less of a people than Americans. When will people come to realize that nationality and national pride both mean absolutely nothing in the scope of life? Is your life so insignificant that you have to compensate with the meaningless fact that your country has a greater population? Greater population...
The majority of the population lives in the southern parts of Canada though. For instance, people in Toronto will only get -40 degree weather if you include the windchill. Even my hometown in northern Ontario only sees those kind of temperatures once or twice a winter. They do however get -30 weather pretty often and that temperature is just as likely to rape your face. Fortunately I'm further south and -25 is usually as bad as it gets here.
Give me Dark Cloud 3. Ni No Kuni's good, but dark cloud had better gameplay and catered to a more mature audience. I would be happy with either game though honestly...
It is essentially a demo but there's nothing wrong with that. If you can get the game for free and then grab say two of your favourite characters for 10 bucks that's a pretty good deal. I think if you compare it to a fighting game releasing at 60 dollars and think of it like you're getting a sixth of the content for a sixth of the price it's a great deal. Usually when I play a fighting game I end up hating more than half the characters anyway and also fighters get boring quick...
Yeah as far as MT go this game actually offers a completely fair system that I would say is very intuitive and flexible for a fighting game (as you may not even want some characters). I'm sure there will be a disc with all the content included in the future. My guess is that they went this route so they could focus on a smaller amount of content and get the game out for launch.
Hmmm what are the sales figures for NA? The infamous Vgchartz (not very reliable I know) has PS4 at 1.17M and X1 at 0.8M for NA. If sony doesn't get more out for Christmas and MS do then you could be right. However, I don't see PS4 giving up a lead like that as they will still have consoles trickling in to retail as well. Even if the gap lessens, I think it will increase exponentially with the new shipments in Q1/2 next year.
Completely agree with you TwelveBitHero. As a noob to the series I held my own and didn't have too much difficulty staying alive. But after dealing with people trolling and breaking armour all of the time, I got sick of it after awhile. If the Souls games took out that component of the game though, I would be more motivated to look into them. I'm assuming they did?
