As Blues Cowboy said, I think people just expected more from this franchise. Many hardcore gamers know about those games' transgressions because it's become a trend and somewhat of a running joke. This franchise, though, has never been guilty of reskinning games and overcharging to this degree. Destiny was a similar scenario in that people just expected better from Bungie. Personally, I blame the publishers and I also can't help but think that the industry has gotten worse at budg...

Kind of agree in that it is more like "greedy publishers" but not all devs are innocent as well. Though it does go both ways and even some of the most amazing games can actually bankrupt a developer. The best example I can think of now would be Journey. That's why Chen had to resort to a kickstarter and go multiplatform. That and who knows what share Sony took from them as a publisher.

Them disagrees. Is it pride, envy, or anger for your comment being off-topic? Some people are wound too tight.

*looks at 40 game backlog on PS4 and cries a little inside*

I've barely been getting the platinum on games anymore. It's just too tedious and time-consuming. It's more like beat this game and be done with it so that I can put another check on my massive list.

I thought we already got unfinished swan free on ps3. I'm confused. Maybe I picked it up on an awesome sale back in the day. Anyway, it's an amazing game. I would place it over some other big indie titles like Limbo and Transistor, but that's just my take on it. It innovates in so many ways and keeps introducing something new to grapple with as you progress. The story also offers a pretty amazing metanarrative despite coming across childish at times.

Still better than paying for strictly online and not getting any games or awesome sales ala how Xbox was for 13ish years. also, Nintendo has the only free online now but their service is arguably the worst and they offer almost nothing in the ways of deals and rewards. I have no complaints about PS plus. Despite some crappy games, there have been plenty of stellar Indies that people need to give a chance to understand. Many of them are better than retail franchises like AC and CoD. Case in po...

Mostly cash-in. Anything greater to come will be thanks to the last bit of soul and ingenuity left at square: Tetsuya. He's been out of the game for awhile because of versus XIII's unprecedented dev cycle, but I'm excited to see what he brings to the table with XV and KH3. Hopefully the developer for this doesn't ruin XV.

Going to go out on a limb and say for most dlc it's like 2 to 4 months with 75% of that time being within the original development cycle. I agree, however, that it should not be free. Especially if the standalone game proves exceptional in terms of content. There have definitely been cases of cutting in the past though. It fights used game sales. Keeps prices for games low (deceptively). And it makes more money off the game's already created engine. This model is basically heading in ...

If the people running their mouths are the idiots, I'd like to know what derogatory term would apply to the goofballs who are blindly helping to ruin the gaming industry. It has to be at least 6 notches up the perjorative totem pole.

Same. I think the only DLC I've purchased is a Killzone 2 map pack and some Rock band songs. Never bought any season passes. Just the telltale ones because it's the actual game and not DLC. I do wish I played some of Bethesdas add-ons back in the day for Oblivion and Skyrim though.

Yeah keep expectations low for ps4 sales until maybe the holiday sale later this year. The library is still building and most games don't even fall into the "old" category yet.

Pretty meh compared to last year's golden I think. I've already gotten most of the best games for cheaper on previous sales. Maybe just suikoden 2 this time. Not really interested in those games starring sexually flamboyant 14 year old girls that are plaguing the vita lately. Just seems wrong. And the gameplay videos I've seen (I'm into JRPGs enough to research these games) point towards generic in every sense of the word.

I agree, I think MGS4 is what Kojima wanted for Snake's ending but everything from 5 has been the equivalent of getting hyped for a call of duty modern warfare 4. It just feels like a milk. The final product could be absolutely amazing but ground zeroes was pretty lame by MGS standards and I'm keeping my hype low because of Konami unlike most people. I just don't see it being half as good as MGS3 as far as prequels and in most ways it feels like a step down from 4 (minus the cool ...

Wouldn't mind if they handed it off to akiba for the last 80%. Who cares if it's chronologically improbable. You could use his irritable bowels to deceive enemies. Perhaps you could even get them to retreat back into their tents to clean a deuce off their boots.

There is definitely a meta-narrative in there though it is arguable if that's what it pertains to. The message about freedom at the end really broke the fourth wall there though and could imply that game developers should be able to choose their own path. I got a more general message of the individual in society out of it though.

It may come full circle, but am I the only one that felt like there were some threads dangling all around at the end of MGS4?

@reallyNow LOL the best way to call someone out on a logical fallacy. I would personally like to see more games follow naughty dog's footsteps with animations. AC has decent looking ones, but when you get gameplay involved it's terrible. ND games just look and feel that much better. I don't understand why poor animations tend to affect PC-oriented developers more. It's just a trend I've noticed over the years. Hopefully fallout 4's animations are leaps and bounds over ...

Konami may as well file for bankruptcy right now because they have nothing going for them now. Can't believe their pride let them stoop to this level...or maybe it was stupidity. They are literally throwing millions of dollars out the window over their beef with Kojima.

I think one and two had the best Gameplay balance in that the moves were well thought out and really complemented each other. Like the shockwave combined with a rocket or sticky grenade was always entertaining. Second sons gameplay wasn't as cohesive but it definitely offered more varied situations. The neon powers stood out from the rest with the slow motion and weak spots and the dashing. Probably my favourite infamous power. It never got as tedious as Cole spamming bolts or grenades or...

Man AC is so boring. Bought and played one of the games. It was the most repetitive and mundane experience ever. The combat is just terrible and is so easy and dependent on counters that you never feel a sense of tension. The entire game is just an automated formula.
