Mac gaming is at a trivial 3-ish percent, but adoption of Linux gaming is a QUARTER of that according to Steam stats. It's a non-audience at this point, sadly.
Definitely wasn't terrible. The story, graphics and setting were actually really compelling with some interesting scenarios and gunplay. Was the game shorter than Tyrion Lannister and as replayable as Dear Esther? For sure. But it wasn't a terrible game by any stretch.

There are some crazy issues with this game. When it runs, it looks and feels amazing, but I'm getting 100fps on 1080p and like ~5fps on 1440p right now. So freaking weird.
I believe what DEEBO was referencing is the risk/reward factor in the Dark Zone.
Similarly to Dark Souls, you can try to go further and get more dangerous in effort to get bigger or better rewards, but you run the risk of getting killed and losing it all.
In the Dark Zone, you drop whatever you've collected there and depending on the players or mobs around, you may never get it back.
Never got to try this back in the day. I would like to check it out again with some spit and polish. Too bad the first-person/third-person strategy genre didn't take off so much, I very much enjoyed games like Sacrifice, Urban Assault and the Magic Carpet games. They were pretty damn cool at the time.
Might have to check this out if it's not completely botched like many of Squeenix's recent remakes.
It makes sense to me in some cases at least. I mean in terms of level design, you usually get just a dozen or so small arenas in multiplayer, but a 6-8 hour trek through tons of buildings, forests, mountains, etc. when you're making a campaign. Plus there's a ton of mo-cap, voice acting, script writing, music (most MP games nowadays skip music during MP altogether).

This is simply getting access to everyday Eastern European and Asian pricing. We in the west aren't meant to get these prices, so in fact this is an exploit, not a sale. Did you read the article?
He should start a Patreon after this harrassment. /s
That's immediately what I thought. It was supposed to be a competitive eSport with revolutionary spectator modes. I wish the best for him, but his track record since leaving ID has been spotty.
Based on his talks at GDC a year or two ago, I'm excited to see what sort of dialogue and reputation systems he puts in place. Could be a game-changer.
Decent deal for such a new game, but I'm not totally sold for it at that price. After trying it on GameFly, Warzone is really the only attraction since they kinda gimped the other game modes and campaign.
I'll probably pick it up for $30 at some point.
I wonder if he likes/dislikes Breaking Bad? I would love to see the article title, "Breaking Benjamin's Benjamin Burnley breaks Breaking Bad."
It's interesting how varied the scores/responses have been to this game. Some hating on it, some loving it. The theme is obviously a huge factor on whether you will like it or not. I've played about 10 hours of it combined from the beta and full release, and although I wouldn't give a final, lasting rating until I crank out several more hours, I have had a mostly great time with it.

I kinda wish more games would do the thing Far Cry 2 and Mad Max (2015) did for map boundaries, making it fairly infinite, but harsh and dangerous to a point where you will have to turn back or die. Works really well for a desert or post apocalyptic setting, obviously.
Let's just pretend that this game never came out, so Itagaki can get back on to making a good game...
King is one of the most cynical and standards-less companies in the video game industry. No wonder Activision wants to nab them.

Been playing the Pre-Order Beta all week (and yes, you should not buy into this kind of thing unless you know the risks), so far am loving it. It's got the tense, unpredictable and tight co-op of Left 4 Dead, with the weighty, intense melee combat from something like Chivalry or Dying Light. All combined in a package with a really great dark fantasy theme and a respectable loot system on top. Overall, really great stuff, and I'd recommend it to anyone who likes L4D, Chivalry or games ...
I bought the game multiple times but it is unplayable right now due to small player base and atrocious matchmaking. I wouldn't mind F2P if they FIX THE GODDAMN MATCHMAKING. Seriously, 30 minutes and still waiting for a single game. Shameful.
