@Hatsune -- Same here. GTA4 was fine, but it wasn't even in the top 20 of this gen for me and still stands as the most over-rated game of all time IMO. Between GTA4 and Skyrim (No reviewers noticed the freezing on the PS3 version? None? Really?), I have no confidence in reviews. When I'm even remotely on the fence about a game, I wait for user reviews.
This is fake, but obviously GTA 5 will eventually hit next-gen consoles. The only issue is when.
Microsoft obviously made a ton of mistakes with the xbone in general, many of which have now been corrected. But the release date is fine. Nobody who was buying an xbone is going to switch systems now just because the PS4 comes out one measly week earlier.
One of the better games of this generation IMO. The story was excellent of course, but the gameplay was stellar as well. I'm not clicking the link because I'm pretty sure this site is just fishing for hits.
Gran Turismo is a totally different genre than Gears or Halo, and besides the Xbox has Forza.
I agree strongly that the Uncharted franchise is better than that Gears or Halo, but it isn't as much a tentpole for Sony as those two franchises are for Microsoft. (Admittedly it's close though).
I'm going PS4 only. At least for now, Microsoft doesn't have any exclusives that I want, so there's no need for a second console.
I'll look long and hard at the Steambox when/if it ever comes out.
This was a really good article. I strongly prefer the Sony's portfolio of exclusives to Microsoft's, but in terms of mass-market appeal, Sony doesn't have anything in the same league as Halo or Gears.
You can see the same thing developing right now with Titanfall. Again, that's not my kind of game, but from a business standpoint I can definitely see that one particular title moving some Xbones. Even if it's just a timed exclusive it's the one thin...
I think I may be the only person whose expectations are still tempered based on my experience with GTA4. I'll probably still this title as something to hold me over until the PS4 releases, but the hype is way out of control.

PS+ games aren't actually rentals (you can keep them indefinitely), but that's sort of the beside the point. I would rather "rent" games like Deus Ex, Hitman, Uncharted 3, and Battlefield than own Magic: The Gathering.

AC/DC is one of the few bands that managed to produce quality work over four decades. They're not even close to being overrated. They belong up there with the Stones and Zeppelin.
In fairness, the sniper rifle in KZ was a OHK anywhere on the body, which is pretty much as noob as it gets. And in KZ3, you could sit there invisible in a corner with a freaking assault rifle until they patched it. And then there was the Assault class in KZ2 . . .
I agree with you that KZ is a much better game than COD, but lets not pretend that it doesn't provide outs for noobs.
This is one of those things that sounds better in theory than in practice. I remember how KZ2 eventually degenerated into 40-minute spawn-rapes in Radec Academy over and over and over again. Not fun.
I'll almost certainly buy either this game or BF4 at launch, but I'm not caring much for some of the stuff I'm reading about KZ.
This kind of game just isn't my thing so I won't be buying it when it comes out on the PS4. But I have little doubt that it will sell well on both consoles.

I don't think I like the idea of all weapons being available from the start. One drawback of this franchise is that you always unlock everything too soon. Hopefully they have other spokes in the hamster wheel.
