As always, I'm going to be very skeptical of adding multiplayer to a single-player franchise (especially an open-world franchise) until proven wrong. Every once in a while the MP turns out pretty good -- Uncharted, TLOU -- but for every one of those games there are half a dozen Tomb Raiders, Dead Spaces, Bioshocks, Mass Effects, and GTAs.

The author of this piece is really excited about getting Sleeping Dogs through Games With Gold. Is he not aware that this was a PS+ freebie last year?

I was on the fence about this game when it came out on PS+, but I fell in love with it almost immediately. Great design, great gameplay, lots of good customization options (I prefer playing with the hounds off but with a large world to explore), and no arbitrary objectives forced on the player, leaving you to basically do your own thing once you become self-sustaining.

Also, props to Klei for making a not-very-subtle statement about trophies in this game. I like trophies ...

It's got a lot of Demon's Souls to it. Very unforgiving of mistakes.

Yep, I'm loving this game. I made it to day 41 in my last game before dying stupidly (chessboard guys). This time I'm playing with the hounds turned off -- I guess its sort of cheating but I find that particular mechanic really annoying.

I know I'll get burned out on this after a while, but Don't Starve and Resogun were really nice PS+ freebies and have gone a long way to compensate for a pretty thin launch lineup.

They're different genres and ought to be scored on different scales. The scale that you use for a $60 title should be tougher than for a $15 arcade game.

Excellent. I liked Resogun and I'm loving Don't Starve, but Outlast is the one I've been looking forward to the most.

Not sure why people are disagreeing with Wizard_King. This thing is obviously gimped thanks to being a cross-gen title. If it was current-gen-only it could probably handle more players, but the 360 is holding it back.

That would have been a mistake. Besides alienating potential customers who are stuck with slow internet or restrictive bandwith caps, going all-digital with only a 500GB HD just isn't very appealing.

Thanks for posting the content so I didn't have to give that site a hit. I'm very happy with my PS4 so far. I'm also looking forward to finally playing Bioshock Infinite on my PS3 in a few days. There's nothing wrong with people who want to hold off a little on the current gen, but I feel like I'm getting the best of the current and last-gen stuff.

Everyone's entitled to their opinions, but I'm scratching my head at ME3 being ranked ahead of those three. That's just bizarre.

Troll site is trolling.

I would upgrade for $10, but I didn't care enough for GTA 5 to double-dip at full price. It was a good game, but not that good.

By way of contrast, I would happily pay another $60 for a next-gen TLOU.

Not going to bother reading this. TLOU was clearly the best game of this year for me and one of favorite games from the last gen.

I disagree pretty strongly with this review. This was a fun and challenging turn-based game, at least for me. Admittedly this is a genre I didn't have much experience with, but I got 120 or so hours out of it. (PS3, not the Vita).

Loved this game on PS3. Glad people get another platform upon which to enjoy it.

Yeah, I saw that same report about a game-less Xbox that just focused on multimedia. I could see that. The Xbox is really a media hub that happens to play games, and it makes sense that they might release a pure media hub down the road marketed to non-gamers.

Let me see if I understand this. You announced a product with a bunch of DRM attached to it. Consumers got up in arms, so you backed off your initial vision. After that, consumers decided to let bygones be bygones, and many of them bought your new, redesigned product. And this shows that consumers were in favor of your DRM scheme all along?

Uh, okay.

A little too soon to leap to that conclusion, don't you think? It's a fact of life that when hundreds of thousands of people open up a new electronics product for the first time, some of them are going to be broken. The guys in these videos obviously have busted drives. It doesn't follow from that that this is a widespread problem.

Uncharted 3 is actually underrated IMO. It's an extremely good game that gets all kinds of hate for whatever reason.

Completely agree with GTA4 and GTA5. GTA4 was disappointing all around, and while GTA5 has a really good SP story, the multiplayer was broken and empty at least up until the point that I dumped it.
