I have absolutely no doubt that Titanfall will sell a boatload of units. I was just making a little joke about how a suit gets in front of a mic, says that his firm's product is going to be good, and that becomes "news."
Strange. I totally expected the guy from EA to say that his company was putting out a shoddy product that will most likely get panned by critics. Who would have ever thought that he would say his firm's product was a good one?

Well said. I'm disgusted that this stuff hasn't been picked up and covered by people outside of Twitter and message boards. This isn't just "console war" stuff. People are about to plunk down $500 for a console and getting stonewalled about basic, fundamental issues like specs, game performance, and OS stability. It's unconscionable.
I agree -- I'm pretty underwhelmed by those videos. Then again, it's a cross-gen title and Ubisoft probably didn't spend a lot of time optimizing the next-gen versions. No biggie. I wasn't buying this game anyway.
I'll give BF4 a pass on this because they're doubling the player count on next-gen consoles. Otherwise, I absolutely expect every game to at least hit 1080p / 60 fps. That should be the standard for next-gen game. Otherwise, why upgrade?

All else equal, 1080p > 720p. And COD isn't exactly known as a franchise that pushes the bleeding edge on graphics. If the 'bone can't run this game at 1080p, that's a huge red flag.
There is a 100+ page thread on Gaf indicating that COD is 720 on the xbone.

Exactly. When people trot out the "It's my opinion and it can't be wrong" line, 99% of the time they're just being lazy and/or can't defend whatever judgment they've thrown out there.
Everybody is entitled to his or her own opinion, but if you can't back it up with some kind of justification, I'm under no obligation to give your opinion any kind of respect.
If I was somehow able to connect and play GTA Online, I'd probably care about the mission payouts. But since the servers are down, I can't even get online. Thanks for giving me peace of mind, Rockstar!
I think I'm done with GTA. SP was fun, but I beat the main story and don't feel particularly motivated to mess around with the various side missions. Online just kind of sucks. I gave it a fair try (rank 11), but it's too boring and too much of a technical mess.
I was actually really looking forward to this as a launch title, especially since it was going to be on PS+. Hopefully the delay results in a better game, but this still weakens Sony's launch lineup quite a bit for me. (Still getting a PS4 on day one though).

The Last of Us would get my personal vote for GOTY anyway, but GTA5 is a close second. I'm having too much fun with the SP campaign to even tough MP; I'm sure it'll be fixed by the time I get around to it.

People can have different opinions, but anybody who ranks Dead Space 3 above The Last of Us just has rotten taste in gaming.

I don't begrudge anybody for buying an Xbox if they like its exclusives, but handing out a higher score to the console that is simultaneously weaker and a Benjamin more expensive is just laughable. Come on.
