I accidentally whacked Yuria when I sat my controller down just before freeing her. This was on about my 9th or 10th playthrough overall, but it was my first with a new character so I had to go without Firestorm for that playthrough. Horrible mistake that I'll never make again.
Maybe, but like others said, they also picked RDR for 360 GOTY, as opposed to Reach or ME2. Thats not what I would call a "fanboy" pick.
Not even close. GTA4 was overrated as hell. RDR is every bit as good as the reviews its gotten.
For me personally, I probably would go with Bad Company 2 as my personal GOTY, but I have no argument with seeing RDR in that spot instead. It's a close second IMO.
It seems to me that there's plenty of innovation this generation. Off the top of my head:
Bioshock -- Great, original storyline
Heavy Rain -- Blurs the line between video games and cinema
Little Big Planet -- Play/Create/Share
Demon's Souls -- Throwback RPG for the hardcore
Red Dead Redemption -- Name the last great video game set in the old west
Not every game has to be ...
Whick Kinect game is your favorite so far? How many hours have you put into it? What sort of replay value does it have?
The 360 is fine if you have kids who like Kinect-based games and if you're happy with multiplats.
For anybody else, the 360 has fallen solidly behind the PS3 in terms of hardcore gaming, and now MS is admitting as much ("2011 is all about Kinect.")
Dead Space 1 was pretty much perfect as an action-oriented horror game. More of the same is perfectly fine with me. Exactly what changes did you want the developers to make?
There's no reason to have co-op in a horror-oriented game. Co-op ruined RE5, since if you wanted to play single-player, you had to babysit Sheva all day.
I was torn between DS2 and ME2 anyway, since they come out within a week of each other. If the Limited Edition doesn't come with Extraction (the whole game, not just a demo), then this makes my decision a lot easier.
They never finished the original? Their loss I guess. The final boss was a pushover, but I loved the cinematics of the last area.
I could see Move working out okay in a game like Uncharted. Just so they keep it optional.
Agreed. I played some good games in 2010, but 2011 is going to be a lot better.
"lol why are so many articles being made about this game saying that it will likely not be any good? "
Simple: to get hits.
If the author had titled this article "Why Morrowind was Better than Oblivion" nobody would have clicked on it. But throw in a gratuitious, unrelated, and completely unsubstantiated slam on Skyrim and he gets traffic. Sad really.
I see people are still butthurt that ME2 is coming to the PS3.
This and Killzone 3 are the two games at the very top of my list for 2011. I hate that they're coming out virtually on top of one another. Sad to say, but I'm probably going to pass on this so I can devote more time to Killzone instead. I'll pick up Apocalypse for the SP campaign later on.
I'm ashamed that I gave them a hit.
Two words: On Rails.
I have a hard time imagining that many Gears fans are yearning for Kinect support. I sure wouldn't.
I've always liked the gunplay in Uncharted. I find it really fun for whatever reason.
