What do they mean by "not locked" do they mean it's capped at 30fps max, but it falls under 30fps at times or do they mean it's completely uncapped and jumps over 30fps sometimes?
No, Uncharted 2 will NOT look better than any other next gen game. Uncharted 2 looked good for it's time, but it just doesn't have the lighting, particle effects and shaders that this gen has.
Sorry to burst your bubble.
Technically, you get more judder with 40fps because 40 doesn't divide into 60 evenly, so you get a frame rate that is not even. If you pan the camera around at 40fps, you'll see micro stuttering, but if you pan the camera around at 30fps, you'll see each frame exactly twice resulting in consistent pacing.
Anything above 30, but below 60 will judder.
To get no judder, you have to have a constant 30 (each frame twice) or a constant 60 (each frame on...
I hope they lock the frame rate down to 30fps. I really hate inconsistent frame rates like tomb raider and second son.
Has there been any information about the frame rate? I hope it's capped at 30 like the original.
Am I the only one around here that would rather see better lighting, particle effects and physics over resolution and frame rate?
A game that looks last-gen at 1080p and 60fps doesn't do much for me. I want amazing looking games @30fps and with decent AA and motion blur. They will look great at a lower resolution. The reason so many last gen games looked bad at 720p is because there was little to no anti aliasing.
If that's the way people feel about the game, then how is metacritic wrong?
Never ran into this problem... Then again, I've had my PS4 for 6 months and my controller looks brand new still. Rubber hasn't even began to peel off of the sticks.
It could work physically. Those who bought Assassin's Creed IV were able to download the PS4 version for $10, but you had to use your PS3 disc inside the PS4 to launch the game. So Destiny could've done the same thing.
Do the animations still look really cheesy?
What's the difference between this and a cross-gen release? The PS4/XOne versions are just released late.
So if Watch_Dogs comes out for last-gen and next gen at the same time, it's okay, but if a developer wants to release their game on next gen hardware, then suddenly it's a remaster?
One thing that's disappointing in Second Son is no day/night cycle. Also, the draw distances can be really bad in Second Son, but in GTA V, you can see detail for miles and stuff doesn't just pop-in as abruptly as second son.
OH BURN!
Nice motion blur effects.
Never understood what's so great about it's visuals. In my opinion, there are much better looking games. It still looks like it's using "last-gen" technology. It just reminds me of a last-gen PC game.
This has never happened to me.
I'm not getting my hopes up for a release before Christmas. I've been burned way too many times to count on a game coming out when they say it will.
Umm... Hell no!
How would you all feel if Rockstar suddenly announced that GTA VI is going to be exclusive to PS4? Tomb Raider has been multi-platform for a long time and to suddenly cater to the Xbox really sucks.
It's one thing to announce new IP's exclusive to one console, but to release a sequel of a multi-platform game to a single console is ridiculous! You just alienated most of your fanbase.
Look at the Last of Us remaster... it's barely different from the PS3 version. Still hardly any grass, the environments look almost identical and it seems like all they did was make the game higher resolution and changed the frame rate to 60.
