PC looks washed out.
Did I say anything bad? I was just stating a fact.
XBox owners gave us a hard time last gen because PS3 was missing grass and now they're like "who cars about some stupid grass, it's no big deal!"
It's like Red Dead Redemption on PS3 vs. X360.
The xbox camp loved gloating over the fact that they had more grass on their version.
Can't make everyone happy I guess.
As the hardware improves, the games can be even more demanding than ever, thus forcing the developer to decide whether they want prettier visuals or smoother frame rate. This is always going to happen.
I can't believe I have to say this so much.
No matter how powerful the hardware gets, that's just more power for developers to use and if the dev wants to use up all the power with visuals instead of framerate, that's up to them... not the hardware.
We've seen that the PS4 can do 1080p/60, but at the cost of better visuals and this will always be the case no matter what.
It's fantastic right now. In fact, it's been great ever since I got it. I don't know what all the complaining is about.
Plus, we get free DLC tomorrow.
Am I the only one around here who actually enjoys the game we got?
Jeeze, you guys all act like everyone must be perfect. People make mistakes. They can be forgiven.
I'm still having fun.
It's the in-game brightness setting not set right.
I just tried it on PS3 and when I increase the brightness, the colors look washed out. I decrease the brightness to where they say it should be according to the logo, and it's back to that vibrant color I'm used to.
You guys. I just increased the contrast on one of the new-gen images and now it looks exactly like last-gen (color/contrast wise).
So no worries. They're just crap screen captures.
Rockstar's official comparison video shows no lighting/contrast differences either.
Also, it could have something to do with the in-game brightness setting. I can make the PS3 version look washed out too if I adjust the brightness in the game.
Lighting seems kinda downgraded. It doesn't quite have that HDR effect anymore in the new-gen.
More contrast in the PS360 version.
Pretty? Yes.
Disappointing? No.
I hardly touch my PS3 anymore. The only reason I still turn on my PS3 sometimes is because of GTA V which won't matter anymore after Tuesday!
I disagree. Driveclub was amazing. I still play it almost every day. Even just doing random races is fun.
I'm sure lots of people are playing it and having a great time.
Also, for anyone who doesn't know... this game was not made in a year... it's been in development for 3 years. Just because they have AC games released every year, doesn't mean the same team is working on each one. Unity was 3 years in the making.
By the way... games aren't unplayable without a patch. I deleted all my patches for GTA V and played it on version 1.0 and I couldn't tell a single difference between that and the patched version.
You do realize that this game has been in development for 3 years right?
I enjoyed the crap out of AC3 and that game chugged along like it was running on a potato.
You said in your own words "I think of this as more of an upgraded port than a remaster" which implies that you heard someone call it a remaster, otherwise you wouldn't have used that term.
I was simply asking where people are getting this "remaster" term from. Since you used it, it was obvious to me that you got that from someone else.
No, it's like you go to a restaurant and order a steak. They serve it to you on a paper plate with a plastic knife, but the steak itself is really good so you come back again next time.
A lot of the broken games have to do with the developers, not the console.
Also, 30fps on DRIVECLUB doesn't bother me. There's no controller response issues and it looks and feels very smooth.
It's possible to have a 30fps game with no input lag.
