It's not fun to listen to racist crap when you're trying to play a game. It takes some time to find the people online who aren't idiots. (Old Farts were my favourite server for BF2).

That's why I want coop in every multiplayer game. If it doesn't have coop, it's kind of a wasted purchase for me.

calling people monkeys and beaners, aren't you?

It has nothing to do with free speech. No one is stopping you from saying anything in public. You can say WHATEVER you want there, but there will be ramifications. On live there are no ramifications, and people want to change that.

In real life, every time you say something, there will be a result. If you called anyone a "monkey" in front of my face, I'd pound your face in and take you home to mommy and ...

It doesn't really have anything to do with my accent though. That just let them know I was a foreigner. Kids are racist idiots everywhere, and if they know someone is a different race than them, they will attack.

That's why I don't use in-game comms anymore.

AAAAAAH! PEOPLE HAVE SEEEEEXXXXX! DON'T LET THE CHILDREN SEE ANYTHING OR THEY WILL BE MORALLY CORRUPTED AND GROW UP TO BECOME GAMING-MASTURBATING-CHEETO-EAT ERS!!!!

Idiots.

I was totally the same. I thought the demo was completely unappealing, and then my wife bought me the game for Christmas, and I love it. I play a chapter every couple of days and it's a fun story with great graphics and classic platform gameplay.

I hate platforms, but I love Uncharted.

Hmmm. I sound like a viral marketer. I'm not though. Just borrow it and play the first few chapters, and you'll see for yourself. Maybe you'll like it too.

I live in Japan, and I used to play BF1942 and BF2 regularly. Most of the times that I'd play on Japanese servers, I'd either be TK'ed until I quit, or I'd be kicked, as soon as they heard my accent. (I speak Japanese almost fluently, but of course I still have an accent.)

On Korean servers? I'd be kicked because I have a Japanese IP.

On Aussie servers? I'd be slagged because I have a Japanese nickname.

It ain't just Americans, and it ain't just L...

Yes, yen.

@crhno6: I just didn't need the wireless or the card readers. And I knew I'd be buying a bigger hard drive eventually, so it felt like I was paying an extra 10,000 YEN for only an extra 40GB of space. I can see why people would want the 60, but the 20 is perfect for me.

EDIT: oops, and my previous post should say "price drop in October" not "December"

The 20GB is absolutely the best. I bought it just before the price drop in December, because I was worried that with the 40GB coming, we'd lose the 20GB.

I haven't regretted it at all, because I didn't want wireless, but I did want USB ports. (Even if I did spend 47000 on it).

I think the 40GB is fine for most people here. Anyone who is really worried about playing PS2 games already has a PS2.

Dude, stop.

First, I said that the Yakuza are big in movies and in games, but very few people actually care about them in real life.

Next, I didn't say anything about you living here, and I know all about the history of the yakuza, thank you. Whatever they were in the past, now they're just a bunch of drunk idiots who drive through red lights and try to start fights outside bars at night, or people who own gambling parlors and get protection money from bar owner...

Not unless you're standing in front of a Yakuza guy and you're saying, "HEY STUPID YAKUZA!"

Otherwise you're fine.

I think someone has been telling you stories to make Japan seem cooler.

A) Yakuza are not a big part of the culture. They are a big part of the crime world.

It's like saying the Mafia are a big part of US culture.

Sure they are. In movies and video games, not in real life.

B) Roppongi is not where the Yakuza dwell, they live everywhere with varying degrees of success, and they certainly don't control "more than half" of...

I think this guy is half-wrong. I don't think Sony will ever charge for PSN, because I don't think many people are willing to pay for it.

They might charge for Home because there is a market for that sort of thing, but if Sony ever charges me to play multiplayer games, I'm going back to PC gaming. The fact that PSN is free is what made me choose a PS3.

It's the principle of the thing; I ain't paying for online.

Transformers wasn't that bad. At least it was more historically accurate than Pearl Harbor.

Good article. It just shows why encryption is such a good thing. Too bad so many governments are against it.

That's cool, my report wasn't exactly subtle and gentle.

<start_sarc>Yeah it sucks how these games are becoming more realistic. I mean, I remember the days when you could jump over your opponents bullets! I can't do that anymore! Screw that! I want Contra!</end_sarc>

Listen, blowing up your opponents cover is the whole freaking point of war. If you think that a constantly changing environment is boring, then stick with COD4. You'll be able to play daily games with the other 50 luddites who refuse to play BF:BC because the...

Unless your laptop says, "Xbox360" or "PS3" written on the side, you can't.
