I understand what you're saying, but I don't see where the problems are. Everything looks awesome to me. I haven't played any high-end games in a while, but I can see that this game beats the hell out of BF2 on max settings.
Maybe I just have lower expectations.

I'd rather have a stable 30fps frame rate and awesome graphics, then a 60fps rate with dumbed down graphics. Most of us won't notice a lower frame rate if it's rock-stable, only when it staggers.
After all, we all have seen movies, right? 24fps, but rock stable.

Which games have tried stuff like this before?
How does COD4 raise the bar? 4kmx4km open maps? Drivable vehicles from jeeps to helicopters? Destructible environments, from ground to trees to towers?
Honestly, I'd say that as fun as COD4 is to play, it's just a place-holder for the real bar-raisers like Crysis and BF:BC. Good graphics != great game.
COD is fun, but it isn't exactly innovative; I've been playing games like COD4 since 2002, only they were better because I could fly planes and choppers and drive tanks and stuff.
COD has nothing on the BF series as it has been so far on PC, and if DICE gives us half of what they are promising, I will play this game until my console melts.
I just wish that BF:BC allowed more players on the servers.

Why does no one care about Battlefield: Bad Company?
I think it has the potential to be the greatest FPS - console or PC - ever.
/I admit that I'm biased. I've been waiting for a good BF title to hit consoles since BF1942. I just don't understand why people were more excited about COD4, which is basically BF2 without vehicles or mods, when BF:BC is coming.
When I got home today it was up. Even downloaded a couple of demos for the DS, but they sucked. Good idea though.
It seems that no one has written an English article on this yet, and I wasn't about to pimp my own site for it. If someone wants to write one, we can add it to the secondary sources.

Apparently they played the game for a total of 12 seconds. This game is more fun than Wii Sports, and has a lot more replay value.
I've been playing it constantly since release on Thursday, and I'm exhausted and having a blast.
At parties, most people would be non-gamers, so most people would have no interest in playing Warhawk or Halo or Smash Bros. or Rock Band.
Here's a better list of party games:
1) Wii Sports
2) Mario and Sonic at the Beijing Olympics.
3) Other games that haven't come out yet.
No one wants to play with 18 button controllers except nerds (I'm a nerd), and that's why the Wii is "winning".

It's not illogical, it's not hypocritical, blood-dripping anime is illegal for under-18's, porn is illegal for under-18's, THE GAME IS RATED TEEN. BLOOD DOES NOT EQUAL TEEN IN ANY COUNTRY THAT HAS ANY INTELLIGENCE.

It's a visually stunning game, but the demo just wasn't that fun (for me obviously, I'm not making a sweeping generalization). I can't get used to TPSs, so that's probably a part of it, but look at GRAW for PS3. It's doing well at most stores here that I've been to.
Now, I'm not into RPGs, I'm more into GT, FPSs, and strategy games, but to me the low sales make a lot of sense.
