Looks really cool. I just worry I'll get motion sickness. I was getting near the point where I had stop the video, and feeling the effects now. A lot of older first person shooters used to do that to me, but not much anymore. I'll have to try a demo to see if it is one I can play. I'll be bummed if I can't.
Stupidest holiday ever? Someone clearly hasn't heard of Groundhog Day!
Apparently, somebody has never heard of Columbus Day!

I preordered Watch Dogs for PS4. It is the only game I plan to buy at launch, but of course I'll get Drive Club as part of PS+. I do want AC4, but I'll wait till a price drop to under $30.00 (thanks to used games still existing, that shouldn't take too long). Between Watch Dogs, Drive Club, the free-to-play games, and a few low priced indie games (definitely want The Witness, Octodad, and Galak-Z), I should be able to tide over for a while. I am waiting for Destiny, The Divisi...
PS+ only gives you hundreds of dollars of free games if you have a PS3 (and possibly a vita), and then get a PS4. If you are getting a PS4 without having a PS3, you won't be getting hundreds of dollars of free games, you'll be getting a limited version of Drive Club, and indie games (at least that is all that has been announced so far). Don't get me wrong, as someone coming in to PS4 this year that didn't have a PS3, I am still looking forward to the free games I'll be g...
If they are already subscribing, they are not a factor in the 1.2 billion ADDITIONAL revenue sony will get from switching multiplayer to behind the paywall.
@newmonday: You missed a decimal point. You need 24 million yearly PS+ subscribers to get 1.2 billion revenue. That also assumes two things: 1 all revenue from the money for the subscription to PS+ goes to Sony (stores that sell the membership actually get a small cut of that money, so in reality they would need to sell more than 24 million to make up for that). 2: The article says that the decision to put the multiplayer behind the paywall will INCREASE the revenue by 1.2 billion, so that ...
I guess that will be one of the first tests of the new reputation system for Xbox Live. If people are consistently sexist or abusive, they should get knocked down to yellow or red, and moved to the lowere servers so you don't have to deal with them. I guess we'll find out. (Although I suppose I won't since I don't play COD anyways, but in theory, we'll hear if it is working or not.)
Looks like the article was right, to a degree. Microsoft just announced that some countries will be delayed until 2014. UK and US among others will not be affected, and will ship on time, though.
I agree, and was going to say Rage and Dead Island came out that calendar year. Rocksmith was also a new IP that year, that is getting a sequel soon.
If they are talking about fiscal year, you would have to include Kinect Sports, which I am assuming was more successful than Bulletstorm, and is getting its 3rd itteration from the IP soon.
All that being said, Bulletstorm was my favorite new IP in 2011. I really enjoyed that game a lot. Had it day one, a...
I think # 6 sounds the most interesting to me. If you can make a game with split screen/ couch co-op and have the two players hear different things, that has some potential to be really cool. I hope some creative developers come up with some awesome ideas in that area.
Even though I am going with a PS4 this coming generation, I don't think you are providing any constructive insight into value, just stating slogans, cheering for the console you like, and hating on the console you don't.
If you are talking about the free games with PS+, having the F2P and apps outside of the paywall is irrelevant. You aren't getting any value there. You are knocking the other console for something that is not a real issue. You are paying for PS+...
As a couple of others said above, I just am very skeptical of the ability to play games over the internet like that. I will be one of those converts from Xbox to Playstation this generation, so I really hope Gaikai does work. I want to be able to play The Last of Us, Journey, the God of War saga (although I was happy to hear GoW 1 and 2 would be coming to the Vita) and Uncharted. I am just not counting on it working. Similarly, I don't expect remote play to work well over the internet...
And Watch Dogs has more content on PS4 than 360. And didn't Batman Arkham Asylum have Joker missions on PS3 that weren't available for 360?
I am probably going to to go with the PS4 (that has been my plan from the beginning, although I am still considering the XB1 instead), but this is far from insightful.
First off, if you are talking about getting free games with PS+, the whole thing about features behind the paywall is irrelaviant (or moot, not mute like I see so many people write). You are already paying for the paywall, so you aren't getting extra value with the other services not being behind the paywa...
You can play PS3 games on your vita over wi-fi outside of your home over the internet without lag? I don't have a ps3, so I don't know, but I have never heard about that before. I know my vita has a remote play icon already, but I thought that was for in-home not over wifi across the internet.
Plus, the amount of data in a PS4 game has to be more than a PS3 game, so that means more data transferred at the same time. As I said, we'll find out before Christmas. ...
While I think remote play will work well in your home network, I have serious doubts about remote play working at wifi hotspots. I just think the internet is too slow for the responsiveness required for gaming. I am not saying it is impossible, but I really have my doubts. I am counting on being able to use remote play with my vita in my home, but I am not putting my eggs in the basket of playing away from home. It seems too unreasonable to expect that to work. I suppose we'll all fin...
For me, the where we stand on the two consoles right now, and the main decision to make is this:
PS4: better internal hardware, remote play on vita and Gaikai (although as I mentioned in an earlier post, I am skeptical of it working over the internet, but expect remote play to work well in the home, which is my primary use for it anyways), the value of extra games with PS+, the cache of sony historically making better first party games and price.
XBOne: HDMI ...
I am expecting remote play to work well in my home, but I do not have faith that Gaiki or remote play outside of my home network will work well. I just think the internet is too slow to send that kind of data over the internet at the responsiveness and precision needed for gaming. I suppose we'll see that maybe it will, but I am not expecting it. I do think playing in the home network will be cool, though.
I thought it looked cool, but the trailer gave me motion sickness. I am worried that I won't be able to play the game without getting sick. I'll need to try a demo first.
