On Black Friday, I got a PS Vita that came free with Assassin's Creed Liberation, PS Allstars Battle Royal, a 4 mb memory card, and 3 months of free PS+. The whole lot cost $180. I think that was a better deal than a PS4 for $400, so it isn't the deal of the century. But I did preorder the PS4 and am definitely looking forward to it.
I want Dragon Age and Mirror's Edge. Need for Speed Rivals looks cool, but I think I would prefer The Crew instead. I don't care one bit about battlefield or the EA Sports games. Regardless, I don't plan on paying $60, let alone 80 for any of those games. I'll pay $30 a few months later. And yes, I will buy them new, not used, but thanks to used games still existing, the economics of supply and demand will let the prices fall.
Say what you want about Don Mattrick, he was a gamer, and has been running games all his life. He started a software company that made games for the Apple 2 and Commodore 64 when he was 17, and pretty much stayed in gaming to this day.
Cool, since thats the console I preordered. Thanks guys. I am interested in seeing how well this works. I know which games I want (The Division, Watch Dogs, Destiny, The Witcher 3, The Witness, Lords of The Fallen, Dragon Age, Mirrors Edge, Assassin's Creed IV, Infamous Second Son, The Crew, The Order 1886, and several of the indie games), and which games I don't want anything to do with (any of the EA Sports games, call of Duty, Battlefield, Elder Scrolls Online {I have no idea h...
While I applaud them for their creativity in making the 3d UI, I don't consider that next gen. I just consider it taking the time to make it more natural. To me the biggest parts of the game that make it next gen (for consoles)are the improved graphics, scope/size of the game world and the seamless transitions between single player/co-op/pvp. Thats what I see as the main differentiators of next gen.
I know Jonathan Blow has said a lot of negative things about Microsoft lately, but I thought that The Witness was only stated to be appearing on Sony's console first. I don't think it has ever been officially declared a console exclusive.
Since I am buying a PS4, I don't need to worry about it personally, but fair is fair...despite the current animosity, I think it will still wind up on the XB1 eventually. Of all of the games in the article, that is the game I c...
I forget which console it is (it might even be both, I just don't remember) that said it will recognize your game habits and download games automatically that it thinks you will want. They will be waiting on your hard drive if you wish to buy them. That would wind up being even faster. They really don't want you to have to wait this coming generation.
I don't understand what you guys are talking about at all (assuming you are talking about the family share plan). This is nothing like the family share plan. The share plan would have let other people in their accounts use your games. So they would be logged in as themselves.
What they are talking about in this article is logging in as you and downloading and playing the game on a different system. In order for that to work like the family share, you would have to giv...
For second screen, they missed that PS4 will also have a playstation app for tablets. We don't know exactly what will be in it, but it will do something. So they have more than just remote play on the vita.
For games, they missed Dead Rising 3 and Project Spark for Xbox.
Also, I don't think Diablo III is a console exclusive, although its possible I am wrong on that.
A lot of people are talking about the exclusives for each system, but for me personally, if I were to lineup all of the announced exclusives on XB1, all of the announced exclusives on the PS4, and the lineup just from Ubisoft, I would take Ubisoft over either consoles exclusives.
The third party games that are going to come out for both systems will be the main draw for me, much more than the exclusives. I have only had an Xbox and 360 in my home since 2001 (No PS2 or PS...
Remember the trailer for Overstrike (which got changed to Fuse)? That trailer was amazing! Colorful and funky, full of personality. The final game...not so much.
Maybe Sunset Overdrive will be really cool, might be the next Fuse. We just don't know enough about it yet to have a real opinion.
I plan on getting either the Crew or Need for Speed: Rivals as my main racer, but I'll be happy to have Drive Club PS+ on day 1 as part of PS+. It looks good enough. I don't think I would have considered buying this otherwise, but now I'll give it a shot, and you never know, maybe I'll buy some extra tracks if I like it, so they have more of a chance of spending money on it now than I would have if it wasn't on PS+.

"If you have an Xbox Gold membership today for 360 and you buy an Xbox One, your membership applies to both systems," Microsoft's Phil Harrison told Polygon. "You don't have to get another subscription."
Multiple members of a household will be able to share a single account...
Thats actually not true. It is true for Xbox 360, but Xbox One, one gold account covers everyone in your house.
As far as the reasons in the article:
1) No More DRM - That just puts it equal to the PS4, not a reason to buy the XB1.
2) Kinect 2 is cool - I don't think it is cool, but my family seems to, so that was the only reason I agreed with.
3) The power of the cloud - Much like Gaikai and the backwards compatibility over network for PS4, I don't really trust either of them to be all that efficient over current internet standards, so I...
However, with those being said, I still went with PS4 this year because my top 5 reasons to go with PS4 outweighted my top 5 reasons with the XBOX:
1) PS4 seems like a more powerful system, with more resources devoted to gaming. So I expect better games from PS4, and that is what I want the system for, primarily.
2) Remote Play. I don't have a PS2 or PS3, but I do have the vita, and being able to play my games on the vita while someone else uses the...
Personally I chose to go with the PS4 this coming generation, even though I was 360 this gen and had an original xbox the last gen. It wasn't the easiest decision in the world, and I did have reasons to stay with Xbox, but my top 5 reasons weren't the onese they listed for the most part:
When I thought about the pluses to the xbox:
1) The improved matchmaking system. I never play competitive multiplayer because I am always matched up against peo...
The games I will be getting:
The Division
Watch Dogs
Destiny
The Witcher 3
The Witness
Dragon Age: Inquisitor
Lords of the Fallen
The Order: 1886
Infamous Second Son
Mirror's Edge
Assassin's Creed: Black Flag
Either Need for Speed: Rivals or The Crew (Haven't pciked which yet)
If I can find Knack or Killzone for a discount, maybe I'll pick th...
Hang in there, Trooper. You are going to have to wait a little while before the game comes out.
Coming from an Xbox house, but switching to PS4 next gen, The games I wanted to try were Journey, The Last of Us, The Uncharted Series, and the God of War series, so if they can actually pull off the Gaikai system, I am happy, because the games I want to play will be there anyways. Then again, I would have to be between PS4 games to play them anyways, but I will find the time at some point.
