If you have creative game makers, they can make creative uses of multiple audio sources. If you have lame game makers, it will be a lame feature. I have faith that there will be some creative uses for it.
I am buying a PS4, and the only game I am buying at launch is Watch Dogs, which isn't even an exclusive (i'll buy ACIV when it gets down to $20). If I were to buy an Xbox on launch day, I'd still get Watch Dogs, and maybe Dead Rising 3, but thats about it. The big exclusives will be coming down the road.
I think the rumble in the xbox triggers is a pretty cool innovation, but I also think that having a speaker in the controller could be more innovative and immersive for the PS4 controller. If you can play couch co-op and have the players hearing different things can have very cool situations in the future, if the developers want to be creative.
I like some of the innovations in each controller.
I think the person who asked the question wanted it the other way. Watch netflix on the TV and stream the PS4 game to the Vita.
Personally, I wouldn't want to. I could see using skype while watching tv or netflix, or using the internet while watching tv or netflix, but not gaming. If I am gaming, I am usually focused on the game.
I only asked because this article makes it sound like that is something you can't do on PS4, and I was curious if it was the same on XB1.
Not that this would sell me on an XB1, as I am getting a PS4 day one, but does anyone know if you will be able to watch Netflix and play a game on the XB1 at the same time? I think you can Skype and play at the same time, but I don't know if other apps would work the same way. Just curious.
Ubisoft is adding extra content to The Division for Xbox One. They are adding extra content to Watch Dogs and Assassin's Creed 4 for PS4.
I wouldn't put PS4 as the definitive version of The Division.
I know Outlast and Secret Ponchos will be on PS+, but I don't think they will be available on PS+ at launch. I think they come on to PS+ one game per month, so you would have to wait a while for Outlast and Secret Ponchos.
@Jiggins99 "actually it is confirmed to be one AAA game that has been released in the past few months, every month for the foreseeable future. on ps3 i got great games like battlefield 3, saints row 3, xcom etc
so worth £40, especially after paying £40 a year to microsoft and getting online pay, plus things like netflix that i already pay for but are behind microsofts paywall. "
On PS4, it has not been confirmed to be one AAA per month. That i...
One of the games on the list was Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare, but that is supposed to be XboxOne and 360, not PS4.
@Iamnsuperman "Also I would like to see how Gaikai comes into it in a bit more detail. For example will the quality degrade at peak times?"
I think you are confusing Gaikai's technology with Gaikai's online streaming service for backwards compatibility. Gaikai developed a method of compressing the video from a game on one system while viewing and controling on a different system. This is what I refer to as Gaikai technology. The PS4 will have this technolo...
I don't expect everyone to want the same games that I want, but I made my list (capitalized games weren't in the article):
1) The Division
2) Destiny
3) Watch Dogs
4) The Witcher 3
5) THE WITNESS
6) Dragon Age: Inquisition
7) LORDS OF THE FALLEN
8) THE CREW
9) Infamous Second Son
10) MIRROR'S EDGE
11) Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
12) The Order: 1886
13) DEEP DOWN...
Split/Second was tremendously tremendous. I agree that it was my favorite racer last gen as well.
Same as E2S, I already own AC:L, Guac, and PvZ. I also own Need for Speed. Hoping for LBP and PixleJunk on Vita. I don't own a PS3, but PS+ has paid for itself and then some just for Vita. I was going to buy Uncharted, Wipeout and Zero Escape, and got them all free, plus a bunch of other freebies and discounts (Mortal Kombat for $5 was really nice).
Coming from an Xbox 360 home, switching to PS4 next gen, I am hoping that PS+ will work out as well. I see how happy ...
I think the game looks really cool, but I won't buy it. I don't play competitive shooters. If they had a single player only, I might have considered it for the 360, but I am getting the ps4 next gen. Won't get Killzone, battlefield, or Call of Duty, either.
If I was in to competitive shooters, I would give TitanFall a try though. The world feels like a game I would like.
There is a flaw in your question, you are confusing Gaikai the technology and Gaikai the company.
Gaikai, the company, came up with a method of compressing video from one source while controlling and viewing the video from a different source. Remote play (playing a game on your PS Vita that is being powered by your PS4) will use Gaikai's technology for streaming. This will be free. There will not be any paying for this.
Gaikai, the company, is also...
Looks nice, but I think I will go with The Crew over this. They seem similar, but I think I will like the variety in the Crew more.
This is a foolish, worthless article. Don't waste your time or give this clicks. The gist of it is, ince Peter Moore said the current gen releases on October 31st, and next Gen systems shortly thereafter. That doesn't mean he revealed anything. They probably won't release until November, but this quote has nothing to do with that. He may well have said that just as an agreement to keep a surprise, and he might not even know when the release date is. He would only have reveal...
The trailer looks amazing, but with next gen, it is very difficult to tell what is gameplay vid, what is 'in-engine' footage outside of gameplay, and what is pre-rendered. I want to see gameplay footage. All that said, this game is high on my wanted list and one I expect to buy when it launches.
@ausbo: I just bought a year of XBLG for $30 last week. Its for my renewal in January, so I'll have live for all of 2014. Probably my last year for now. I'll keep my 360 active alongside a PS4 next gen.
@ theWB27: I don't think the headline is taking in the context of the statement when it says 'giving away stuff...its kind of odd'. He was saying in Sony's position for the PS4 release, it would be odd to give away a game, since they have already...
