Sony spent too much of this generation being overpriced and unimpressive. They tried to live on their PS2 and PSX success and they lost a lot of ground and their fans, pretending Sony could do no wrong, haven't helped matters either.

So, it doesn't look good, and they ALREADY did one, but I've seen slightly crazier things happen in the last 12 hours of a Kickstarter than $45K swooping in just as the buzzer sounds. (Like Zombicide, Ogre, Kings of War, and Sedition Wars)
GameInformer: Gamestop ain't selling this game so screw this game. Gametsop can't even buy this game used. This game is therefore not real. If someone actually gives you tools to defend yourself and you don't bother to learn to use them to defend yourself, then you ARE part of the problem. And probably a childish, helpless, little idiot who wants others to take care of him. In other words a thin skinned wuss.
The difference was that the eye toy was nothing but an obvious rip off of the dream eye, which was a console only web cam, rather than any kind of notable accomplishment. Both it, and its successor, were both poorly supported crap and people knew it the whole time. Same with 3d. Same with Play Create share. Same with Move. All half ass half baked efforts that Sony left twisting in the wind.

This gen is already pretty much on its way out. Time to give up all the fantasies about PS3 being the next PS2 and look to the next gen.

It turns out that triumphalist fanboy praise doesn't go very far in this industry. Investors like sales more. Gamers...well, no one cares much what they supposedly like or hate, especially on the internet where two guys sound can sound like forty and over a thousand can sound like three or four. That's probably why internet-gamers bitch so much. They are deservedly ignored by anyone and everyone with actual skin in the game.
It also doesn't seem to be heading towards 3D, Move, rental streaming via Gaikai, or Play create Share.
Oh well.
