I think presuming your customers will have perfect or even reliable internet is kind of stupid.

A friend of mine recently bought Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition and I came over to play it coop with him, specifically the two new mini-campaigns.

It turned out to be plain old Resident Evil 5 in a different box with a card letting you download the DLC from Xboxlive and that DLC turned out to be over a 1GB.

So my friend thought he was getting a better version...

I just hope the reward system doesn't enter silly Virtua Fighter 4/5 territory. No curly toed boots, star shaped sunglasses, kermit the frog masks, or riveted iron sombreros please. Just stick to cool looking sci-fi armor options and emblems and stuff.

Pacter is not bashing Halo or Super Mario Galaxy 2. He's saying that we are now quite late into the console generation life cycle and that at this point games are no longer capable of being system sellers because no one wanting a specific game franchise has held off buying a system this long. Pachter says that the only major system sellers from here on out will be price drops and "product refresh efforts"(new colors, slim-versions, and rarely...inexpensive major add ons appealing t...

Your extra-lame taunt post here indicates that you have not grown up yet. Sorry.

" Why would it be a suicide? It's not like both are gonna release in the same platform and so both won't affect each others sales, "

For the most part I agree with this. Someone with only a 360 will not be likely to buy Killzone 3 (since it would also require buying a PS3) and likewise someone with only a PS3 is unlikely to buy Halo3 (and a 360).

Some people(like me) own both consoles and so, in theory, might prioritize one over the other. If both were out ...

This is not new, untested or exotic technology.

Sharp has ALREADY SHIPPED 3d monitors and laptops that don't require glasses and guess what, it happened a few years ago.

They did not make much of a splash but they WERE brought to market already.

A Smallish (meaning that a poor range of optimal viewing angles would not be a problem) version of this multilayered polarized LCD screen tech being used in a hand held game device for 3d (without needing glass...

I'm guessing this is based on the multi-layer polarized LCD screen tech similar to that developed by Sharp for lap tops several years ago?

Well Bioware is doing the KOTOR MMO. It's probably about that.

I guess somebody with a blog needed more imaginary crap to fling.

Is this even a REAL question? Business does this all the time. It's called thinking ahead (or sometimes they call it 'long term planning').

It's almost as if Microsoft understands the concept of a product life cycle (like any manufacturer should)...so where's the fire again?

Unfortunately, I'm afraid that you are saying this to the internet equivalent of Peter Pan and his troop of wild boys posting from Neverland(Mom's basement).

Ah good. Finally another intelligent response to the really dumb article. About time.

OMG. Someone finally made an intelligent comment to this really dumb, naive, and flaky article. It's amazing (and kind of sad) that it took this long.

Poor selling compared to what?

Really? So you chumps REALLY never heard of Research and Development working on Mk N+1 of a product while Mk N is being finalized? Have you never heard of product life cycle? Do you know anything at all about how business or the world you live in works?

AAA essentially means that a lot of money is being spent on making and marketing a game. It has nothing to do with quality, critical reception, or how fans like it. It is not like a blue ribbon for best game. Now AAA games may TEND to be the games that people and critics like but AAA is not a score or guarantee of quality.

So yeah AAA games are ALWAYS known before they are announced because game devs and publishers need to figure out what they are willing to spend LONG BEFORE th...

That's because the measures the companies take apparently don't stop the pirates and only hurt legitimate paying customers. They're a stupid futile and harmful response to piracy. These DRM measures hurt the value of the product. When a company does stuff like that they deserve to be condemned for it. It's all about results, not intentions.

Geez. I'm tired of Jaffe trying to be a rockstar based on old Twisted Mteal games and God of War. Especially after he brought us the discontinued "Calling All Cars". He's entering Denis Dyack territory with his nonstop camera chasing and vague hype. At this point he really needs to either crap or get off the pot.

Jaffe, release a game or go away until you have a game to release.
