I don't think it's cancelled.

In my opinion, the deal with Square was for 3 platforms. XB1, 360 and PC. I think MS is footing the bill for the 360 version to make up for the moneyhat on PS4.

If they ditch that version, MS either has to let go of the MS Exclusivity thing or pay more to keep it off PS4. And I think it's going to be cheaper to release it on 360 compared to paying for exclusivity.

Forgot Joe Montana Football and Battletoads.

I think the Rare segment should open with a minute teaser of Battletoads (old school 2D beat em' up), then end with the Rare logo on screen by itself.

And since it's Rare's 30th Anniversary this year I think, they should then transition into a short montage of all their past games...

...then get to the new IP.

To me, that's how Rare should be re-introduced to the ga...

Actually, they'll be reverting to the 360 version for tournaments.

http://arstechnica.com/gami...

Near the bottom, it reads from Capcom, "Each region will maintain its current hardware standard for the remainder of the 2015 Capcom Pro Tour until otherwise announced."

The 360 version is tournament ...

WOW, that's actually a brilliant idea. I'm very impressed.

Having a universal XB1 or PS4 USB stick that can be downloaded on, would be pretty crazy. Game stores would have to have super high end bandwidth so you aren't sitting there for 2 hours, but that's quite a smart idea.

Bubble up for brilliant thinking. Even though people would be upset and cry on a forum, you get a bubble for at least being creative about it.

I would agree with you 99% of the time...except this one.

Let's say UC4, DOESN'T get delayed. This remaster trilogy had to be in the works for a while, right? So when did Sony plan on releasing it?

They were going to put a remaster AND the sequel out in the same holiday period? Seriously? Think about that for a second.

I'm pissed that Sony lied to us about UC4 coming this Holiday when they KNEW they were releasing the remaster and...

Yooka-Laylee was being made, regardless of Kickstarter. Same with Bloodstain. The Kickstarter is to show potential investors that they have a backing.

Instead of looking at Kickstarter funding the game, think of it like a survey. A survey that people paid to take, so they the developers, can show a publisher they have a guaranteed X amount of sales and should fund the project.

That's all these Kickstarters are nowadays. They are basically Surveys and Focu...

That would be true......if there weren't dozens of benchmarks already shown to the world...

...but there are.

And we can already see a massive improvement from DX11 to DX12.

I'm not even trying to troll or anything, but I agree, that was not impressive.

The density of the foliage is one thing. In other words, how much foliage there actually is covering the ground everywhere.

But graphically, it doesn't look "next-gen" to me.

I think MS missed a huge opportunity by not releasing an earlier build of Windows 10 for the XB1 in like mid April.

Think about it. If the Joe Montana 2k16 thing is real and it's a MS Exclusive Cross-Play game, both PC and XB1 need Windows 10 to run it.

Which means, if the XB1 doesn't get it's Windows 10 update til late September or early October, then they missed the first 5-6 or so weeks of the season. Plus they'd be giving Madden an almost ...

My god, this is one of the most poorly worded, clickbait, sensationalized headlines, I've ever seen.

They simply took the game off the store, not your hard-drive. I thought they were deleting P.T. DIRECTLY from users.

Septic still isn't wrong though. They've always been in June and August. A couple weeks, here or there is nothing. It's actually 51 days, so it's 7 and a half weeks.

What's funny is that the media briefing for Paris is last week of October and PSX is beginning of December near the TGAs. So basically like 39 days, which is less than 6 weeks apart.

Why would Sony do PSX less than 6 weeks later if they didn't want ...

Fable Legends is using a port-up version of DX12. They're somewhat "brute forcing" DX12 into UE4. At GDC in March, Epic was porting DX11 code to DX12 live at the show for Unreal Licensees. I believe Fable took a similar approach, but obviously a little more refined than simply throwing bundles together.

I'm curious if Quantum Break, Scalebound and Crackdown are DX12. It seems that MS wouldn't want any First Party or any exclusive game running without it....

I definitely think some older titles will be ported to the Windows Store and also be compatible with XB1. Square has been talking more mobile nowadays, so the idea that getting their games on multiple platforms simultaneously with minimal effort seems like a no brainer for older stuff.

I don't think things like DQ:Heroes and such are going to XB1 unfortunately. I'm curious what happens in the future though. If Square is building games with DX12 in mind, going from PC ...

Huh? I don't think you understood what he was saying.

He means, the game would be DX12/Windows 10 exclusive. Since PS4 doesn't use that API, it wouldn't be shutting out anyone.

On topic, if the game is a new IP, it could be exclusive to Windows 10. But if it's FFXVI, not a chance in hell it goes MS exclusive.

I think MS is taking all the right steps in unifying so many platforms and devices under one umbrella, like you said.

My biggest concern is how well the adoption of it all goes. They are doing what everyone hoped they did so many years ago. We just gotta wait for developers from every industry to now adopt the umbrella approach.

I just don't know how long that'll take. Companies get stuck in their ways and hate change. Obviously this change is good an...

Taking some of the "non-gaming" ideas and applying them to games could be pretty cool. The medical demo gave me a couple ideas.

I see some indies using HoloLens for detective games. Reprojecting the crime scene on your living room floor would be cool. Being able to identify how the victim died and see a cool looking interface for gathering clues.

Think about a David Cage type game or even LA Noire. Imagine sitting right a...

Yeah, think of it like Unreal Engine 4 and being able to compile in real time and then once the build is complete, all changes occur without having to restart. MS is simply applying that idea to it's entire cloud infrastructure.

Think about daily challenges and how at any time, the entire game can change. Something like Sunset Overdrive, where they replace every low level AI enemy with one of the bigger enemies. You'd think it was a glitch, but gameplay could change, ...

I'm curious why PCs that use APUs, Laptops, Phones and Tablets will ALL see a big benefit with DX12, but for some reason, the XB1 won't.

What I also find curious, is why every APU in a PC, Laptop, Phone and Tablet, will ALL see a major increase, but for some reason, the APU in the XB1 won't see any benefit.

It's kind of amazing how EVERY OTHER DEVICE IN THE WORLD, will see a benefit. But the XB1? Apparently not. <...

Driveclub will be F2P "as a service".

Most likely, the PS+ Demo will be turned into the free version that you start with, then add content via microtransactions and DLC packs.

Since essentially half the studio is gone, the amount of content that would be added could probably be done by the remaining staff. It's not as if, there are going to be 100 cars released tomorrow or anything. So over time, the amount of content will build up.

The best part about these articles is that the PS4 actually uses more power overall, given the same everyday scenario.

Breakdown: XB1

Standby with instant-on for 18 hours at 12.5w = 225w
Gaming for 4 hours at 119w = 476w
Watching a movie for 2 hours at 80w = 160w

Total for XB1 on an average day = 861w

Breakdown: PS4

Standby with instant-on for 18 hours at 9w = 162w
Gaming for 4 hours a...
