1886 is being criticized for trying to make a movie while adding gameplay in it. Everyone knows the quote of the designer so I don't need to repeat it.

The thing with Quantum Break is, apparently how you choose to make decisions in the TV Series will affect how the game plays out.

It's like Heavy Rain + Max Payne gameplay with Remedy at the helm of it all.

Heavy Rain gets criticized for it's lack of gamep...

@ the dark one

It's not about the power of the CPU, it's being bottlenecked.

It's absolutely ridiculous how many gamers talk about tech, but do not understand a single aspect of how hardware works.

The CPU has to initiate instructions. If those instructions are bottlenecked, WHICH UBISOFT STATED THEY ARE, then upping resolution is going to hurt performance in regards to framerate.

Those instructions that are sent ...

@poppin

Yes, but not to the extent which was shown. Basic animations are done, including moving your mouth with some facial reactions, which is cool.

Though, this demonstrates a significantly higher capture for the hands than Project Spark.

Markerless MoCap is very much on the rise in terms of smaller studios. If this hand tracking accuracy could be applied to full body and facial capture, it's a different story and I'd be inclined to...

It's even more sad if you think about it this way.

If this tech video is really as accurate as it appears to be, developers of almost any size could actually use a multiple setup of Kinects for Motion Capture...

I agree, to an extent.

Personally I think VR will be rather niche. To then throw on top of that, Kinect functionality, will make it even more niche.

It's a tough sell, especially from a developer/publisher standpoint. Install base for both devices means you have an even smaller potential market.

Shoe-horning Kinect+VR onto existing games would be kind of garbage. To really see some cool and unique ideas would mean it has to be somewhat ex...

So the extra filler should not be discussed? Did you even read the review?

He talks about the cool aspect of the Alien at first, but it becomes unoriginal and tedious later on.

He also talked about the FPS aspect that comes in halfway through.

From every preview I've ever seen of this game, there is no way in hell I would have said this game could last almost 15-20 hours.

There is only so much you can do with the setting ...

That was an insightful comment.......

His biggest gripes are what everyone has been worried about. How long can the "being hunted" aspect go on before it becomes stale.

The game being 17-20 hours means they had to add some extra content. This is actually the first I've heard of guns being in the game. I thought I read a while ago that no guns were in the game and it was totally survival based.

Now that I hear about the segment w...

If they overhaul the OS, it means it's designed to take advantage of newer hardware through acceleration.

If the OS is designed for DX12 and functionality of that API, the increase with performance would be pretty big.

It all depends on how well they figured out the multi-device approach. If it's tough for developers to get it operational, then it was all for nothing.

But if they get it right, the upgrade would not only be substantial...

I'm torn on how they're going to approach this. If Microsoft makes it cross-buy, it'd be huge. Definitely a good reason to jump into their ecosystem, especially for apps. Big games obviously won't run on a phone or most tablets, but the idea of cross-buy apps is amazing.

To me, it's either gotta be cross-buy or nothing. The heavily discounted thing doesn't really make sense when alot of games/apps are $0.99. It would make Microsoft look cheap, VERY CHE...

That's what Driveclub should have been in my opinion. Two track based racers with similar attributes is not just redundant, it doesn't allow either team to branch out and do something different.

Motorstorm was very different and it allowed Evolution to be it's own kind of racer. The social aspects of DC are not enough to differentiate, especially when it's a track racer anyways.

The other thing about FM and FH is that both studios share a pipe...

I agree. DC should have been open world if they were going to do one. GT in an open world would be awful. You need a significantly less sim and more arcade to do open world.

DC, even though it's not as arcadey as it should be, could have been the answer to Horizon.

GT7 will never be an answer to Horizon. It's DNA is going head to head with Motorsport.

Also, the announced social stuff for DC is very similar in alot of ways to the Horiz...

Steam is only low priced because Valve doesn't do a damn thing, but rip off developers.

They don't provide a hardware platform they need to recoup their investment for. Hell, they even outsourced Steam Machines to other companies instead of putting up the money themselves.

They don't develop games, nor market for titles on their store, so no money has to be recouped since no investment was made on their part.

They don't provid...

Upvoted for your avatar.

That being said and as much as I love you for being a Paulite...you are completely wrong about AMD or Nvidia. Euclideon doesn't need them. They need Euclideon and they need Euclideon to be nice.

Euclideon's Unlimited Detail Tech runs on the CPU and doesn't use the GPU for processing (only the final displayed image). So Euclideon can basically eradicate and bypass all the hardware that AMD and Nvidia put out.

For the thousandth time, Euclideon isn't working with Voxels. It's Point Cloud Data.

It's amazing how even tech sites do not understand the differences.

I love how people talk about TLOU like they didn't break up gameplay constantly with cut-scenes and long drawn out linear tasks.

TLOU had great performance capture, which was achieved with pre-rendered cutscenes. Linear hand-holding structure doesn't leave much gameplay since everything has to be tightly defined.

Saying the TLOU should be the symbol of the gaming world is the absolute worst thing we could have.

All companies going for...

I agree on the perception point, you're right. But I disagree completely with the system not being flawed.

The number scores are broken, especially those that are put on Metacritic, without using the Metacritic scoring system.

How does a 5 star rating system get associated with a 0-100 scale? 3 stars is a 60. 4 stars is an 80 and 5 stars is a 100.

You're telling me, reviewers from those sites never played a game worth a 68? Or 76? Or ...

You're still participating in the same thing the person on Twitch is participating in.

When it comes down to sports or events like that, the experience changes. I can not replicate nor can I participate in what I'm seeing in the NBA or NFL on TV.

And you're right, the entertainment aspect is one thing and something that shouldn't be overlooked or looked down upon.
