I agree. NPD is cool for hardware numbers, but game sales? That doesn't work this generation.
Especially when you got bundles that have digital code pack ins.
The XB1 AC:Bundle alone had two codes. And that thing apparently sold a ton. So suddenly AC:U bombed?
These sales metrics need a revamping or more transparency, because FUD like this is ridiculous.
You're a gamer who will intentionally miss out on other games..
....Yup, makes sense.
It's people like you, that are ruining gaming. Pathetic fanboys but claim to be gamers.
There is absolutely nothing noble about missing out on games. Nothing. At. All.
Ori doesn't count or something? OK.
Also, the DEMO for Deep Down is coming, no release date for the game.
Plus, there is no release date for R&C. Nor is there a release date for Tomorrow Children.
But we're all glad you made a totally unbiased list..... *sigh*
I don't get it either man.
She basically looks like EVERY OTHER FEMALE FIGHTER. EVER.
Like effin' EVER.
No seriously. EVER!
Anyways, I think it's just gamers wanting to look like the good guys with their political correctness.
@TheJackson
Really? Capcom wanted cross play you say? So, what you're saying is that Ultra Street Fighter IV, which is also coming exclusively to PS4, will be cross play enabled for PC and PS3 versions?
..you know, to create "one big awesome experience".......right? *sigh*
I absolutely adore the lengths people will go to justify something.
Call it what it is. SFV is a money-hat. Nothing about cross play or creat...
Crossplay on a game that will sell very little on the PC?
Apparently the PC community is the Fighting Game preferred platform and nobody knew it. *Sigh*
Why didn't Sony ever do cross-platform on Tekken? Or Soul Caliber? Or Virtua Fighter?
It's also fascinating how Guilty Gear 3rd, is console exclusive for Playstation, yet doesn't have cross platform. Why is that?
All companies will be building that approach in the future.
Alot of these companies are watching what HBO does first since it's basically the big dog in that regard.
It also depends on the pricing of HBO Go. I think $10 a month is good. It needs to be near Netflix pricing if it wants to avoid a backlash.
Adding HBO to a normal subscription is like $11 or $12 on average. But since HBO doesn't have to pay money to the provider, they can...
Cross Platform Play is simply an excuse that holds no weight, whatsoever.
The fact is, the PS4 version will be used in tournaments, so fight sticks need to have compatibility for both. And if the fight sticks can work on PS4 and PC, then they could be wired for XB1 as well.
Also, what happens when PC runs at higher frames? PS4 will be locked at 60, but PC will be clocked higher with better hardware. That's a significant advantage on the PC.
That is such a ridiculous statement. Aside from annual releases, we see gameplay 10-12 months out, most of the time. Let's look at the AAA exclusives coming next year.
-Bloodborne was shown at E3 this year and that''ll be 9 months from release.
-1886 was shown at E3 2013 and we've seen gameplay since early 2014.
-Quantum Break was shown at the reveal in 2013 and we've seen gameplay multiple times this year.
-Halo 5 was at E3 2013 an...
Really?
Keep fighting the good fight there, pal.
Exactly. And also Live Subscriptions.
This generation is different from the last one. Sony wasn't charging to play online. So the two console living room with full functionality was cheaper, in a sense.
But since Sony charges for online now, less people are willing to play $100 a year for both. People are going to draw a line in the sand and stick to one, far more this generation than compared to the previous gen.
People are expecting it to come out in 2016. I don't think we'll see cross-gen at that point. Both MS and Sony will have moved on for 99% of the titles at that point.
Nobody thought this generation would take off as quickly as it has. The games we're seeing have been in development for a few years. It's tough to justify next gen only, when nobody could really have stated for a fact that we'd have as many consoles in homes like we do now.

@uth
That's totally wrong on almost every level.
The fact is, had they done an open beta, the "1 in, 1 out" infrastructure issue would have been noticed.
What we've been told is that it's far deeper than simple scale of server issues. They said it's rooted inside the codebase forcing players in and out in a single file line.
Again, that is something they WOULD have caught if they did a proper beta. ...
They had like 20 characters in the menu mockup and that didn't include obvious 3rd party characters.
Splinter Cell
AC
RE
Titanfall
Sunset Overdrive
Witcher
..etc.
They could easily fill out a roster of 35+ fighters. Didn't PS All Stars have like 30 fighters including 3rd party? I definitely think it's doable, but MS would have to put in some characters that aren't very well known, like Blinx or V...
No it won't.
People didn't want to wear glasses for 90 minutes during a movie.
You really think people are now somehow going to strap an expensive helmet over their face to "immerse themselves"?
How often do you get a text while playing?
How often do you take a phone call or even e-mail while gaming?
How often do you look over at your phone?
How often do you look at your clock or cable box with the ti...
First Person vs. Third Person. Just like Spies vs. Mercs.
Balancing cover and jumping is the tough part. Allowing Cogs to take cover needs to have a disadvantage. Spartan jumping needs to be high enough to give them the ability to "get the high ground" aerially on Cogs.
Obviously there are some other problems, like map management and levels with multiple platforms that Spartans can jump up to instantly. Evasion favors Spartans and that's somethi...
Exactly.
Best console of all time? That title is kept for the NES...
....but a valiant effort nonetheless.
I remember when the number was at like 6.5M, Sony said they had almost tripled subscribers or something.
Which really makes it like 2.2M give or take for last gen. So, they've gotta be pushing close to 9M or even a little more now.
I think Sony gives a tremendous benefit to the entire Playstation Ecosystem. Vita + PS3 + PS4 gets a big boost.
Problem is, the Vita has been pretty much dead, so for the last few years, it's really only be...
Problem is, it's upscaled to 1080p anyways. So output doesn't waver.
What you're really describing is the damage to the image upscaling has on the output compared to it's native form.
And that, without being told by specific software has fooled virtually everyone, everytime. It's fascinating how often games look good, until the resolution is told to people. Then the outrage starts.
Far Cry 4 looked amazing, until we learne...
@thanghee
That is an absolutely RIDICULOUS statement.
WOW.....I'm actually shocked you would even say that.
MS doesn't need to shut down the Xbox Division to operate in another one or even open another division. They have enough money to basically enter any industry they feel like. Literally.
Will they be successful in said industry? Who knows. They entered the tablet industry and are already posting profits. Everyone...
