* * * "I seem to remember when Sony in-house devs were getting better results on PS3 than 3rd party devs it was the 3rd party devs were lazy." * * *

This is true and should have never been said. I was one of those that said that at the time and I was wrong for calling devs "lazy". Most of us don't know how coding works. It's very tedious and time consuming. 3rd party devs have to code for multiple platforms which is tough. Manufactures should str...

The whole mid-gen thing is kind of pointless in my opinion and defeats a perk that consoles have, which is that developers only have to worry about one set of hardware and therefore can max it out to it's full potential.

Mid-gen consoles are tied down to the base console so developers won't be taking full advantage of it until the next console comes out, but that new console will in turn be hindered by the previous.

A true next gen console is als...

It was the beginning of the generation. Games take time to develop. The people that were smart enough to know this weren't worried at all.

The games were going to come later on regardless. First two years had games, just not as much as people were accustomed to compared to 08+ on PS3 and what we are se...

I really wonder when people will stop calling PSNow BC. It's literally as you described; An overpriced Netflix, but instead of movies it's video games.

PSNow is Sony simply preparing for the digital/streaming future. The only reason why it's restricted to old games is obviously so that they don't diminish the value of the PS4.

3295d ago 4 agree1 disagreeView comment

I didn't intend for it to be.

3295d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Oh is that the reason why there's no BC?

Experts at N4G have been telling me it's because they are greedy and want to force people to buy PSNow and remasters as opposed to their being technical limitations.

I actually thought that too for second.

You seem upset that reality shows the opposite of what you thought. You need to get out of the N4G bubble.

Also... Ironically you're in an article attacking instead of actually playing games...

"I agree that all Portables should have the ability to out to a television"

This is what I was saying yet you seem to have an issue with me despite you agreeing with me for some reason...

You come off as one those that say "but but but virtual boy!" back when PSVR was Project Morpheus lol

Nintendo did their thing with the Switch and hopefully Sony does their thing if they ever decide to release a Vita successor.

@ _-EDMIX-_

Yes. Exactly.

All portables should be hybrids out of the box from here on out since companies can now manufacture powerful handhelds at an affordable price ($300 or less) and the given power is enough to translate well on the big screen.

Also that docked you linked only lets you watch media on the TV, not play games. But I get it. Nintendo were not the first ones to come up with the dock idea.

But just so...

Wouldn't mind a Vita hybrid console.

I read it, and anyone that is speaking against the article is correct. R* is far from being in any sort of "trouble." The article is trying to make it out to be that the delay of RDR2 and the fact that outside of a port, they haven't released a game this gen, will somehow hurt R*'s brand/reputation which is not true at all.

Everyone expected RDR2 would be delayed. Delays are nothing new or out of the ordinary this gen. Also everyone knows that R* takes ye...

@coolbeans

I never suggested it was a free exchange though. I admit that I don't know how the whole ownership of IPs and who's required to keep/sell them works. We don't know the details, just a lot of speculation. Seems like what Rainslacker brought up is likely the case where Tequila used a clause in their agreement with Sony after they no longer needed their assistance.

3307d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

They got money from the gov? I didn't know that. Do you have a link to this? This actually makes the whole entire situation make sense now if this is indeed true.

3307d ago 1 agree4 disagreeView comment

True, good thing they didn't play hard ball and just gave the IP back. They could have easily kept the IP and we wouldn't even have the game.

I'm assuming Tequila got money/assistance from elsewhere and thus didn't need Sony's help anymore. Indie devs will always want to reach as wide an audience as possible. They only do these exclusivity deals because they either lack the money for development/advertising or they don't have enough people to work on...

What's up with all these PS5 articles? There is no urgency for it to be released. There are a lot of games to look forward to for PS4 that'll release later this year and in 2018/2019.

* * * "then release the next PSP3(lol Vita 2) as a powerful handheld in just add the Cradle attachment" * * *

This.

Sony should release PS5 as a traditional home console. And then release a Vita successor that is a Switch style hybrid. ALL portable consoles should be hybrids going forward.

@KwietStorm

How do you suppose that Sony mandate/push the extra power globally though? Unless you're talking about patching past first party releases then I agree. But other than that it's not like the extra power is some feature like remote play or share play. Leaving it up to the devs to use the extra power how they see fit it the only way I can see how they go about it.

"But you can't actually tell us that a dynamic 4k image looks better than a native 4k image"

This is true if we are talking about the same game running across different platforms. Then you can definitively say that the one with the higher/native resolution looks better.

But if we are talking about completely different games then there is a lot more that goes into graphics than just resolution. For instance Driveclub is the best looking racer...
