Partial BC is better than none, but it shows the difficulty of it. MS wasn't lying when they initially said that they thought it wasn't possible on the XB1. They found a game by game basis solution eventually which is better than not having it all.

Full traditional BC should make it's return next gen, I assume.

The reasons given boil down to price and the Switch being sold out/hard to find currently.

Not convincing enough for me to claim that 2017 is the year of the Switch.

@All above in regards to the link

♦ ♦ ♦ "If you think SONY is going to listen to the SOCOM community who has already given SONY quite a bit of money, you are mistaken. SONY has moved on (Notice Zipper is gone). They no longer wish to compete with CoD, since CoD already helps sell PS3 units. Look at Hockey, 989 Sports used to make Hockey games, but they stopped, why? They could not touch the competition, so no longer wished to try" ♦ ♦ ♦

Ummmm... Activision that's why. Do you really think that they are capable of delivering a GOOD new entry into the Crash and Spyro series?

Activision will point to Skylanders if you want a new Spyro game. And Activision doesn't have much faith in themselves seeing as they haven't made a new Crash game in years.

Yeah the scale is huge. Kinda of surprised that they can pull this off on current consoles or at least they're attempting to. Wouldn't be surprise if this gets moved on to next gen. Reminds me of Star Citizen.

"What do you mean creative freedom means? What do you think having more freedom with another developer implies?"

You never answered my question... but I'll answer yours... creative freedom is the ability to create whatever you what with little to no interference from an outside party.

Where did I bring that up? You brough...

"Except for each time you quote this it also contains context about their experience with Microsoft as well who didn't stop them from releasing on more than a Microsoft platform."

What does this have to do with creative freedom though? Sony owned the IP/rights. We all know that Sony doesn't allow IPs that they own to go mulitplatform. Which is what I stated before the quote : 'The main reason why they left was to get to as many players as possible, whi...

* * * "And why are you scoffing at the point made by the dev for his reason for the split?? Sony clearly demanded that it be exclusive or they part ways" * * *

How am I scoffing at that point? That's what I'm saying is exactly why they left Sony. You're the one saying it's because of creative freedom. If Sony owns the IP/rights, they want the game to be exclusive. This is nothing new right? Unless you're gonna say things aren't rosy with In...

I figured that was case. ND claimed that UC4 was the end of Nathan Drake's story, never said anything about the series as a whole.

As long as ND themselves are still passionate about keeping the series going then it's all good.

@Septic

Answer me this, Why did they buy the rights back from Sony?

No where does it state that Sony's lack of freedom is why they left. Did Greybox provide MORE freedom from Sony? Yes they did, that's not what I'm arguing. I'm arguing about the reason why they LEFT and according to Tequila THEMSELVES it's because:

They're not bitter. They actually didn't say anything bad about Sony at all. Just Greybox gave them the most freedom out of all the publishers they worked with.

The main reason why they left was because they wanted to reach as many players as possible:

♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ We bought back the indie rights for Rime and the explanation is very simple. With Sony, we were first party, a PlayStation exclusive. But as we grew up as an indie developer, we realiz...

The main reason why they left was to get to as many players as possible, which obviously wasn't possible with Sony. The freedom Tequila is talking about is something they discovered after having worked with Greybox and now want to continue working with in future.
