Pachter is talking in regards to a console being successful, NOT that the whole Japanese segment itself is irrelevant.
Japanese games as a whole is relevant in gaming, always has been. I'm not denying this and plenty have listed all the million copy sellers in this thread as proof of this. But a console can still be successful without it so as long it's getting western dev support on top of stron...
Yeah, whenever a Japanese game would "flop" and someone would say the game was niche/doesn't have mass market appeal you'd call it an "excuse" even though it was a valid explanation for why the sales are low.

Overall yeah Pachter is correct here, very few Japanese games have mass appeal. But I do believe that if you take all 3rd-party and 3rd party developed Japanese exclusives from Sony and made them Xbox exclusive, I think you'll see a noticeable shift in hardware sales. Might not be enough for MS to overtake Sony, because you have to consider other factors like brand recognition, first party games, etc. But enough to say that the investment is worth it.

Isn't "greed" your and other's reasoning for why the PS4 doesn't have BC currently though? Aren't you guys always saying that the reason why Sony doesn't do BC is because they make so much money off of remasters? Why would that suddenly change for the PS5?
Insomniac seems really passionate about making this game. That alone is enough for me to believe they'll deliver a stellar experience.

I was really betting on the fact that SE would one day put 1.5, 2.5, and DDD (now 2.8) on one disk eventually before KH3 releases, but now it looks like that won't happen. I would have bought these remasters long ago.
I guess the bright side of this is that I can get all these games for cheaper now. So my patience wasn't all for naught.
So are we gonna get a KH2.9 that includes ALL the KH games on 1 disk next year as well?

If I recall correctly, MS stated that XB1 and 360 architecture is different. That would mean the only way to have full BC would either be to have 360 hardware inside the XB1(this would raise the cost of the system) or to do it via software from the ground up for the XB1, but that would require a lot of resources and testing to make sure every game works for it and keep in mind that MS had a different mind set when making the XB1 pre-Phil.

Always knew they had the talent with KZ2. They were hindered with their other games in trying to appeal to a wider audience(aka CoD crowd) so some thought they weren't that good. Horizon proved them wrong and is the result when the only thing GG has to worry about is making a game that they themselves want to make.

In the US and UK, XB1 would outsell the PS4 easily, if Sony came out said they are no longer releasing exclusives. PS4 might still sell more WW, but definitely not at the rate they're currently doing.
