And that 70-80% is exactly why MS are keeping COD on PS.
"the fact that 70% of COD sales are from playstation console is far more devastating to the abk aquisition"
Doesn't that just give further fuel to Microsoft's arguments that they'll keep it on PS? If 70% of your sales are on PS, it would be crazy to remove it from that platform.
@shinoff Agreed, timed isn't the same as buying up. But that is not how Microsoft will present it to the CMA, they will say "Look, Sony is throwing around money to restrict content and competition!"
Not saying I agree with that approach, but that's business.
@darkrider None of what you said has anything to do with this trailer or my comment. 🤷
From what we’ve seen so far, they aren’t going to be missing much, and this game probably isn’t worth a 2 year wait.
That’s a pretty short exclusivity window. Also, Sony are really giving MS ammunition for the CMA with this trailer.
Obviously at some point Sony has tried to buy KJP. No way they would just sit back and let MS or Tencent or whoever buy them up without trying to get him under the SIE banner.
And the game engine isn’t really a big deal. He could’ve just used Unreal which is better than Decima. Also he’s now making an Xbox exclusive which obviously won’t be on the Decima engine so again, engine isn’t a big deal.
What are you talking about? The two Outbreak games were great, and were definitely part of the old school RE games.
Facts and generosity are two different things.
It’ll probably have even more now that SteamDeck is out there. Portable devices always sell well there.
They need to stop doing these tacked on, awful, arcadey MP experiences. Just give us an Outbreak remake bundle and ship it with a remake of RE CV. It’ll sell like hot cakes.
Focus on coop, not competitive.
There’s always going to be some outlier reviews. Perfectly normal - people have different tastes and opinions.
Calling something 'the next Portal' is a very high bar. I'm not sure this game will live up to that, but for $25 this looks like a fun little game so I'll pick it up and give it a try.
"It'll make 5/6 billion in profit like PSVR1"
What? PSVR1 didn't make 5-6bn in revenue, never mind profit.
I agree with you that I don't see this selling 15m though. VR is too niche, and the price of this headset is too high for most consumers (especially right now).
The specs are decent so it’s worth it if you’re super into VR- but that is the minority of folk.
For anyone who’s on the fence or would only use it occasionally, it’s hard to justify spending more than a PS5 on it, especially with the launch lineup.
If it were me though, I’d view it as having two options: I can buy a PS5 and PSVR2. Or for roughly the same cost I could buy a PlayStation, Xbox and Switch and enjoy all of the games out there / not have to mi...
I’d be inclined to agree. They were throwing around things like 8K and native 4K@60.
Obviously 8K was a pipe dream that was never going to happen for anything but a small handful of small/simple indie games and was simply marketing bluster - but native 4K@60 should’ve been more achievable.
But the reality is, we’re barely seeing native 4K60 even on cross-gen games, so truly next gen games (whenever we actually get them) are probably going struggle a bit -...
Obviously Sony were one of the interested parties lol.
They’ve been working closely with Kojima for a while, no way they’d just sit back and let him be snapped up by a competitor without at least trying.
As for would they make a “high offer” - Yes, they just (over)paid over 3bn for Bungie.
I think Kojima is playing the game well though, he has Sony and MS eating out of his hand and willing to fund his projects etc meanwhile he gets to k...
“Additionally, it was revealed that eight other studios contributed to the development of Ragnarök, including PlayStation Studios Creative Arts, Valkyrie Entertainment, Bluepoint Games, Red Hot, Super Alloy, Jetpack Interactive, Super Genius, and Original Force.”
Sure sounds like co-development to me.
Unless those studios were just being paid to make the tea 🙄
Those are one and the same.
If you are involving anyone other than your primary studio for core development, you are co-developing the game.
GOW Ragnarok is co developed, as is COD MW2, for recent examples.
And yes it’s the industry standard now for AAA games - very few, if any at all are made by one studio only.
@Immagaidem Well there’s a few things to unpack there.
1. Yes it’s normal for big corporations to spend millions/billions on acquisitions. Microsoft and Sony both do this. The only one that doesn’t do it much is Nintendo.
2. It’ll take time for Zenimax titles to come to fruition. They had a bunch of PS contracts they had to fulfill so really we’re only now (soon) going to start having new Zenimax titles arrive on Xbox with Starfield in a few months.
Definitely. 'Another Chance' is poor wording though, because it makes it sound like the first two weren't good games - they were.
I'm hoping we'll get a sequel now that GW Tokyo is out. TEW3 would seem to be the next obvious title to work on for Tango.
