@Sully My comment was in response to your statement that 'Xbox centric gamers will miss the VR factor" in the reasons to upgrade - the reality is, around 98% of PS gamers will also miss that factor.
PC is a different market. PC gamers want the best framerates and resolutions. A lot of console gamers are casual players who just want to play the newest (insert annual sports franchise) or COD game etc.
As for XSX, XSX has the same problem PS5 has right now - the games are all still available on Xbox One for the most part.
@Sully The overwhelming majority of PlayStation gamers will 'miss that factor' since the vast majority do not buy VR devices.
PSVR is a reason to upgrade if you are interested in it, but that's not a situation that is applicable to most gamers. PS5-only content is the main reason why someone would upgrade.
@Clay It does indeed look and run best on PS5, but for a lot of folk, there has to be a killer exclusive app to buy it. Look at how many pe...
😂😂 Hopefully there’s other next-gen exclusives before then :p
I expect about another year of last gen support tbh.
They’re right though - you don’t NEED a PS5 if you can still play the big hitters on PS4.
Yes some people may want the increased res or framerate - but content is king and is what forces most people to upgrade - and the content is mostly available on PS4.
That was physical copies only - and only in the UK.
So we don’t have the whole picture yet.
@Profchaos Sure, but you get what you pay for - if you buy an S you know what you’re getting, if not you can return it to the store if you’re dissatisfied.
Personally I think a <= $299 console that can play every next-gen game is a bargain for those who just want a cheap entry level console.
For me personally, I’d probably only ever consider getting one for kids or a 2nd room console because I’m definitely a resolution and framerate junkie :p
Apparently so :p
You’re not allowed to say anything remotely positive about the S.
@Sonic The big 3 pay other companies to make games that they publish all the time. It’s known as 2nd party.
If it is 100% them, then they will be credited as the developer. If it’s co dev (which is also extremely common in the industry) then they will be credited as such.
Maybe in other parts of the world - here in NA it’s easy to find a PS5, so they either aren’t scalping it or we got awesome boy protection here (doubt it).
100% in on this.
Tbh not sure if that would be a bad thing, they may be a better studio than The Initiative. Unknown quantities can be risky.
CD are a decent studio, but still need to see some actual gameplay before I can agree.
You aren’t really required to upgrade to next gen yet - but you can bet that the next GoW will not come to PS4.
People haven’t been scalping these for a while now in NA.
It’s easy to find them nowadays (its even discounted in some regions) so no reason to scalp anymore.
Nope. There’s no reason for this to exist when SteamDeck exists. Just buy a SD instead.
What last gen console did you have? Mine definitely did not have a Zen2 CPU or NVMe SSD.
Smart move. These will sell like hot cakes over the holidays at that price. Heck some people might even buy a 2nd Xbox.
@sinspirit Ah I see - yeah there was a fake rumor going around earlier this year - that I do remember and obviously it turned out false since we’re all playing the game 😃
I don't see the Activision one as dangerous. If it removes Bobby Kotick from the industry, and MS runs it like their other businesses / less predatory than Activision, it's a win over all, for gamers and for those working at Activision today.
