Are Xbox fans not normal people? :p
As a primarily PS gamer I want this to go through for a few reasons:
1. I don’t believe they will pull COD from PS
2. I want more shooter competition. Sony has shooters in their stable that they should revive.
3. I have GP on PC and would love to stop paying $70-80 per year for COD
4. Bobby Kotick needs to go
But alas, I don’t live in England so I can’t write to the CMA :p
Same, I find the haptics for shooters to cause me a bit more ‘recoil’ basically. I keep them on for SP and off for MP.
That being said, I play most shooters on PC for mouse and KB and a bunch I play aren’t even on console (Ready or Not etc). Somehow I always end up buying COD on both though…
You can play God of War R, Horizon FW, GT7 - every PS studios exclusive from this year - on PS4.
Does that mean they are all bad games?
I agree. I think SF will be awesome and we’ll still be playing it years from now.
And while it will be a GOTY contender, clearly GOTY will goto Zelda - assuming it isn’t delayed again.
I enjoyed reading this, very logical and well thought out! Upvoted.
I think you watched the wrong video, what the experts actually said:
“In performance mode, Series X has a frame-rate advantage - albeit with more limited draw distance vs PS5. In the RT mode, Series X is also more performant, only facing issues in CPU-intensive scenes like Novigrad, where PS5 also struggles.”
As for the “quicker loading”:
“ this wait is reduced to just over 13 seconds on PS5, and 16 seconds on Series X”
That’s for backwards compatible games.
Xbox basically lets them access the extra resources of the new consoles with zero work (so dynamic res will be higher and framerate if it wasn’t hitting target before), while PS5 does not unless you update to the SDK they have for “PS4 games on PS5”.
That doesn’t apply to this situation - Witcher has been upgraded to be a native app on both PS5 and Xbox.
@Aloy The free upgrade will sell a zillion? What’s a zillion times zero?
@Eonjay The X does have a better GPU overall. When comparing throughput, it has a higher TF count.
Situations may vary, but that’s true for all GPUs
Eh? Nothing has been blocked. The acquisition is still on-going.
Sorry :p I definitely didn’t mean to invoke Elon “$8” Musk lol
COD would make any company rich… obviously. And Microsoft are already rich.
As for no one subscribing to game pass… except for the tens of millions? It’s the biggest content subscription service in the industry - Sony and Jim Ryan have said so themselves.
Somebody didn’t read the article. Gamers cannot successfully sue over the working conditions at Activision. So that part is moot.
You’re really reaching if you’re hoping for a group of random gamers and the Swedish Pension Fund to stop Microsoft lol. The real hurdle here is the FTC, not this case.
This case only has legs for the bank balance of the law firm. Welcome to America!
Series X has higher framerate and resolution
PS5 has higher LOD
Sadly this is pretty common in the US, we’re a very heavy litigation country.
A lot of times law firms will actually say “we want to bring case X against Y” and will go advertise and hunt for people who were “affected”.
@shinoff Exact same reason we play them. The coop is great (even with the “you just got me killed” all the time :p)
Hope they announce a new one soon. Would love a surprise Direct drop of it with a 2023 release.
As long as they’re having fun isn’t that enough to justify their purchase to them? It’s not for us to judge how they spend their money.
Presumably anyone buying an Xbox either:
A) also has a PS
B) will pick up Sony games on PC
C) doesn’t care about Sony games.
Similarly I know people who spend $500 on a PS5 (and PS4 before that) and have never touched a Sony game and just play COD and Madden etc - would you say they’re crazy for...
Hogwarts being the most anticipated PS game in a year that has SM2 is interesting. The amount of hype around Hogwarts is crazy, I really wonder if it’ll live up to it. No pressure.
Also, I found it funny that they have a best re-release award… of course they would have that at PS.
Lol, that’ll go far… not.
The lawyers will get rich, while the plaintiffs subscribe to GP to get COD.
Well of course. Go outside of the hardcore gaming communities online and most people either don’t care, or think it’s fine.
We’re in somewhat of an echo chamber when we’re on N4G - most of the outside world couldn’t care if MS owns Activision or not. A lot don’t even know this is going on.
