If they’re corrupt it’ll come out in court.
But how are MS being denied their due process? They have a court case in August. That is due process.
Regardless, I suspect this’ll be yet another loss for the FTC in court.
That launch was a train wreck. XB1 and the PS3 are the worst console launch announcements I've seen to date, and I think it'll be a while until we see another of those levels (if ever).
Also, remember Don Mattrick? lol. "Just buy a 360 if you don't like always on"
Well, yes. This is no surprise; they've publicly stated they're investing in live service and mobile games.
Everyone knows them for their AAA singleplayer bangers, but realistically, they're a corporation with shareholders and that ain't where the money is at.
@SoulWarrior Maybe he wants those games in GP? Or wants the studios to have extra funding, IO for example could do a lot more if they had Microsoft or Sony's $$$.
@Surgical Does the Xbox not play games? I'm pretty sure it's a games console.
“Buying those studios gains Xbox nothing, it only deprives rival platforms”
Buying those studios means their games will be in GamePass day 1. That is a huge win for Xbox gamers.
“Games are the name of the game, not acquisitions and denying rivals.”
Right... and... who makes games? Developers. So, you acquire developers.
The majority of studios owned today by Microsoft & Sony were the results of acquisitions.
Nope. 5 and 6 can happily be forgotten about.
Those were some dark days all-up for Capcom. Fortunately, they finally seems to be back on track.
They've had to work through Zenimax's backlog first - they had a bunch of contractual obligations to ship PS exclusives.
Ironically, in the year or so that they've had Zenimax, every new game released has been released as a PlayStation exclusive :P
I agree, I doubt BOTW2 will get delayed - and it will definitely be GOTY if not delayed.
Only inept developers complain about it, e.g. Gotham Knights devs.
Experienced devs turn around and ship some of the best looking games of this generation thus far like COD MW2, Forza Horizon 5 etc on Series S.
@darthv72 Agreed. I have been supportive of cross-gen games in the past, but we all know at some point it has to end, and 2 years feels like a good grace period for people to make the transition to current/next gen.
And it looks like they are sticking to that - Forza, SF and Redfall are all Series only.
I also can't imagine playing a game in 2023 on a 2013 XB1/PS4. Ironically, the X1X and PS4Pro could probably still hold up (minus the hard drive), but...
@IRetro Hack or leak is arguing semantics. Information was leaked via the hack. Information that Sony were responsible for and should have been encrypting. It's that simple.
As for credit cards, You're just repeating Sony corporate PR - Sony said that while there were reports, they couldn't specifically tie it back to this incident - but that's true for all online credit card fraud, you can never systematically prove where the card details came from.
@LOGICWINS If I were to hedge a bet, I'd say MS will acquire other studios in 2023/24 (depending on how quickly Activision is resolved) - but I also don't think they need to at this point, XGS + Zenimax + Activison should be more than enough.
Sega and IO could be interesting. WB games perhaps less so, they make a lot of good games but they also don't own the rights to most of them, so you're gambling a bit if you acquire them.
"Xbox h...
Yep, hopefully now that Zenimax's backlog is out the way, they can start getting them firing on all cylinders.
If we get to the end of the year, and MS has Zenimax and Activision under their belt, and are not on track to consistently produce 1st party games, then they're beyond saving and should pack up and go home.
I suppose in the worst case scenario, they should be able to rely on annual COD games since that train is already rolling.

@crows90 “Except starfield isnt 1st half. It's at the end of 2023. ”
Starfield is the first half of the year:

Yep. Next year seems to be more packed - but the question is, now that the Zenimax dust has settled - can they keep that up on a regular cadence?
Time will tell.
@Iretro Your information is incorrect.
1. Sony themselves confirmed the information was taken. Doesn’t matter what personal information, personal info is personal. They confirmed this in writing to Congress ( https://www.flickr.com/phot... )
2. Sony did leak it - maybe not directly - but they are 100% responsible for having low se...
No, do you?
Solid year for the Switch, and it’s been selling like crazy. But it is starting to show its age in some areas.
So my wishlist for 2022 is simple - Switch Pro (“simple”), launch BOTW2, and give us new Mario Kart and Mario bros games.
That seems like it would be accurate, we know they’re at around 20m right now, and had supply issues in 2021, so the majority of those 20m probably landed this year - so 9m for 2021 sounds plausible.
That’s one hell of a tinfoil hat theory.
Microsoft wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for N4G and paid media? What has N4G got to do with MS?
And outside of paid media, tens if not hundreds of millions associate MS with gaming - console owners, GP subscribers, PC gamers.
Also MS is heavily associated with game development too - lots of games are powered by PlayFab and Azure across all platforms, PSN is powered by Azure, and PS4/5 games only e...
