They’d probably end up having Nixxes or one of their other PC porting studios port it tbh. Like you said, PD barely handles one platform in a timely manner.
GT7 on PSVR2 is 100% going to happen - it’s just a question of when.
I wouldn’t put “sim” racing games like GT and Forza in the same bucket as FS though.
GT isn’t even a real racing sim, it’s too arcadey to fall into that bucket, there are far more sim-like games out there.
Racing is more fun than sim flying realistic jets IMO - give it a go if you haven’t already :)

@repsahj Japan doesn’t have a “Christmas season”. It’s not a big holiday there with tons of gift giving etc like NA and Europe.

You are doing misleading math though.
You’re adding up 3 SKUs of the switch and only 1 SKU of the Xbox.

Switch this week: 173,083
Xbox Series lifetime: 397,286
So it managed about half, which is still impressive.

Remove the other 99% and there’s no reason to buy a console.
Remove the 1% and you’ve still got tons of games for the year plus the GOTY.
Also, HoL is doing extremely well on Steam - a platform that has more games than PS and Xbox combined. Perhaps it’s just a fun game that GP helped give visibility to?

Xbox has always sold terribly in JP though, so that’s nothing new really. I think you’ll see me become president before that changes :p
The big difference in the last year or two is that any foothold PS had in JP has evaporated, Nintendo has that country on lockdown.
I still ask though… who doesn’t have a switch at this point. Especially in Japan. The numbers are nuts.

If a reduced res/visuals/framerate version isn’t an option, they will just be very cut down, different experiences that share name and setting and nothing else.

Absolutely nothing wrong with playing old games on a next gen console - millions are doing it every day on their PS5.
If it didn’t matter / people didn’t care about it, back compat wouldn’t exist.
Also JFO had a good PS5 update that adds 60fps.
The reason it’s a lackluster PS+ addition is because it’s a game that is old and regularly on sale - the deluxe edition is down to $7.49 on PSN right now.
