Well, Sony increasing prices is partly our fault - we let them get away with numerous price increases, so why not increase the console too. Not sure it’ll halt the sales though.
They could still hit that target though - the price hasn’t increased in the US and we’re probably a similar sized, if not bigger, market than Europe.
Dead Space for me. Everything else I’ll probably skip on and just dedicate some time to my backlog.
It might still be though - this is physical only - and as of 2020, 85% of game purchases in the UK were digital, that number is probably higher now.
With it being a multi-plat game, I’d be surprised if it isn’t in the top 10 when you look at digital + physical data.
Bundles will definitely help boost SW sales. No idea how MK is still there but I’m also surprised that people are still buying Switch’s like crazy. Nintendo needs to give us MK9 already.
I wish they could combine digital and physical sales data so we could see (roughly) accurate numbers.
This is a bit like saying the Rams are top of the table if you only look at 10% of the games played in the conference.
I bet Stevivor didn’t get one 😂 only went to those who gave 9/10 or higher.
I’ve been saying for a while that the PS5 is readily available - and this is the result of that. The combination of easy to find + GoW + Christmas will boost sales.
Switch continues to completely dominate HW and SW charts though - and that is why we won’t see a new generation console from Nintendo - the most we’ll get is a mid gen refresh.
Well, obviously. Fortunately a lot of games (at least outside of the mobile space) have moved to making real money items cosmetic only.
COD handles this well with the battle pass. Lots of paid cosmetics but the new weapons are free.
I still expect a Switch Pro and not. Switch 2. Switch has sold a ton of units and is still selling like crazy - more than PS5 and Xbox Series - so I don’t expect them to want to leave all that behind.
We can add VR to that list, for a 2nd time since VB is already there.
Sega were unlucky with the Dreamcast. It definitely had some awesome games in its short lived life.
Vita only tanked because Sony let it tank / didn’t invest properly.
Hard to agree that it tanked the 360 because the 360 sold well.
It completely tanked the XB1 at launch though. The pricing… reserving system resources for Kinect (while the specs were already lower than PS4) etc were terrible decisions.
So many fond memories of this map and all the fun I had in GMod. I’ve been trying out S&Box (Google it if you haven’t heard of it), and it’s pretty awesome as a successor.
Hoping they get to a full release in 2023.
I’d disagree with both of you, Starfield and Spider-Man will not be GOTY if Zelda releases. They might pick up a couple of awards but not the main one.
@darkrider You can’t put SM in the same bucket as Zelda lol. Not even remotely close. One series consistently wins GOTY and the other, well, hasn’t.
@darkrider I think you've got me mixed up with someone else. I have always defended Sony's cross-gen games and said they are NOT being held back by last gen consoles.
The only criticisms I've had in that area were the blatant lies from Sony about how you would need a PS5 to play these games - and their mishandling of an upgrade path for PS4 to PS5 in some cases.
Do I get his paycheck too? If so, I accept the job.
Although I think I'd make a terrible front man for Xbox given I only have a PS5. It wouldn't look good.
Halo Infinite is not an RPG, nor is it made by Bethesda.
@Sully Game controllers aren’t advertised as an immersive “virtual reality” experience.
And they also don’t require you to pay $550 for the privilege of such a “realistic” experience.
Definitely realistic and immersive though - every time I’m at the range I regularly change firearm using my eyes.
GP has around 30m subscribers, if that isn’t mainstream then PSVR must be super niche and dead in the water because only a few million are willing to pay for it.
“Switching guns using your eyes” just screams super immersive realistic gaming experience. Where do I sign up 🙄
If that doesn’t scream gimmick I don’t know what does.
Yeah tbh I’m against the idea of $70 games.
There’s a few ways to get DS down to $60 - but you’d either have to buy on Steam, or have EA Play on console.
I’m unsure how Forspoken will review. It may end up being one of those games where reviewers opinions don’t match gamers because previews for it mostly looked positive, but player feedback on the demo was mostly negative.
For me, it depends. If it’s like the demo I’ll probably just hol...
That just seems silly on both the FTC and MS’s part.
The question is silly because it’s irrelevant when COD came out, and while we may not have exact numbers, everyone knows COD makes insane revenue, and that is why they’re buying it.
Similarly the answers are silly because one is a quick Google search and the other must’ve been disclosed to them as part of the acquisition. You wouldn’t put $69bn down without knowing exact numbers.
