7 is a better horror game. But 8 is a better, well rounded overall game experience with world exploration and progression.

Both are good games, but for different reasons.

Right - they lose 30% of a game sale - but as we’ve already established - MS have publicly stated they don’t care about direct game sales/game revenue - they care about XBL MAU/engagement and game pass subs.

They tick one of those boxes when you buy their game on Steam - therefore nothing lost by the way they, and their shareholders are measuring their business KPI’s and growth.

Please do point out which part of the above two paragraphs is not factual. ...

Yep. 100% ambulance chasing to get a quick buck via an out of court settlement.

Sadly all too common in the States.

Well 70% of something is better than 100% of nothing. Whether you like it or not.

But like I said, it’s all moot anyway since their games are all in game pass now and they’ve been clear that all they care about is XBL MAU and game pass subs, and they get at least one of those from Steam users.

But anyway, I fail to see how his above statement somehow disqualifies him from reviewing the PS5, while working for a PlayStation website…

@RazzerRedux That depends, would the person have bought the game on the Windows store otherwise? Maybe not. I buy most of my PC games on Steam, and while I have 'acquired' GamePass games from the Windows Store, I don't think I've ever bought anything from there, nor would I.

So in my case, they would likely rather have 70% of a sale than 0% of a sale + have me counted in their XBL MAU.

Although I guess that sales point is kinda moot anyway...

Sort of, the developer has said that the PS5 version is a patch ahead of Xbox, having launched 5-6 months later and that there is a similar patch coming for Xbox.

So factually, yes it looks and runs better today, but not really a fair comparison & that'll even out likely when the patch arrives on Xbox too.

The lighting on Series S looks terrible in the above video though, everything is so washed out. 4:05 in particular shows how bad it is in compa...

But when ElAnalistaDeBits said Xbox performance was better on RE Village, everyone cried about how they fake videos to benefit Xbox. Weird that they made the above video.

I think you've misread/misunderstood what he said though. The statement is actually correct.

"Microsoft lose nothing if someone plays their game on PC instead of an Xbox"

THEIR being the keyword. If you are playing a Microsoft developed/published game on PC, you are giving money to Microsoft, and are contributing towards Xbox Live MAU etc. He didn't say the vast majority of gamers play on Games for Windows (or whatever the new version is...

@RosweeSon You summed it up perfectly with - we have VR and games INCOMING. Not here. I'm not disappointed with my PS5 (I hope I didn't give that impression), and I'm willing to have extra patience since we're in a pandemic which is obviously not normal circumstances to launch a console (and likely something that won't happen again). But you can only grade what you have here in front of you today.

That plus we were perhaps very spoiled back with the PS4 ...

@Deathdeliverer "on no planet is the PS5 and Series X equal"

Apparently they are, on whichever planet the Playstation website TSA is on.

Both have few exclusives, lack functionality, stability, services, availability, etc. Hence why I said neither have lit the world on fire. These consoles should've been delayed by a year.

Things like Share Play are moot, they've been around for years and didn't really get wide ado...

B+ for both next gen consoles seems fair - neither have really lit the world on fire (yet).

Is any games console really an essential purchase? Food, water, energy etc. are essential purchases.

1756d ago 0 agree4 disagreeView comment

People are still buying games on last gen, there are masses and masses of people who are not able to get their hands on next-gen consoles, both due to price and lack of stock (amongst other reasons).

A big company like EA wants to maximize their revenue and profits, and development costs for them to support PS4/XB1 are minimal, so they will support them to get access to that wider market.

As for Titanfall on 360... it was a big deal on 360? A quick search...

Regardless of how next gen games are selling, PS4 and XB1 are still 150-200m potential customers - that’s too big of a market for EA to ignore.

We’re likely going to see the big publishers continue to launch cross gen games for a while.

It doesn’t mean I necessarily agree with it - I can’t wait until we get truly next gen games that push these boxes (because we aren’t currently) - but it’s the reality of the situation.

9 million potenti...

@Bathyj Nice tinfoil hat theory. Next you’ll be telling us 5G caused the pandemic.

Half-Life 3 is a Switch Exclusive. You heard it here first.

Not a huge surprise, there are barely any next-gen consoles out there.

1757d ago 11 agree9 disagreeView comment

Good move. It's way too hard to get these consoles. Hopefully this opens it up for more people (including myself), and less scalpers.

1757d ago 11 agree7 disagreeView comment

But that situation isn't new or anything different from today.

If MS/Sony wants a (timed) exclusive, they have to incentivize the partner with $$$, and then the other has to outbid if they want to beat them out.

This has been standard practice for years.

"Because Sony already makes the publisher more they are in a better position to negotiate a lower price."

Doesn't work like that, if I am Ubisoft, I...

@Pricey Microsoft are subsidizing publishers for their games being in game pass, yes - obviously. They are NOT subsidizing non-gamepass games or 'normal' games if you want to call them that. You get your store cut from sales, that's it.

To your second point, Microsoft still makes up 21% of Ubisofts sales, they aren't about to bail on that. Their shareholders would ask what the hell they are doing.

Timed exclusives? No publisher makes title...
