Not planning on upgrading at that price plus with worse battery life. I'll be sticking with the stock DualSense.

So now we can pay to temporarily fix drift, rather than have them solve it? Great.

"stick drift an xbox exclusive"

I wasn't aware that they were bundling the DualSense Edge with every PS5. Wow, that won't be cheap!

"Do We Have A New Franchise?"

I think we already know the answer to that. Heck, we knew it back when the demo released.

Yep, they really need to make sure at least Forza + Starfield land this year. Can't afford for those to move out into 2024.

The economy was far stronger a year ago. Crazy inflation right now and lots of people losing jobs and struggling right now.

A lot has happened in the last 12mo, heck, a year ago the war in Ukraine hadn't even started.

Saving this comment. Let's see how well it ages when Sony, Nintendo, EA etc have their earnings calls :)

No one is immune to this economy.

"Not to mention even when you look at the industry as a whole, it's only down 5% Y-o-Y which means Xbox is struggling big time @ 13%."

That's... not how that works. Microsoft make up a small portion of the industry, so their 13% could be 1% overall.

Can't say I'm surprised really, the entire industry is going down in this economy. This will be a trend we see a lot as we enter into the Q2 financial reports season.

Sounds like a VERY unique experience then - I guess that's why it ended up with an 86 metacritic score.

We’ve been asking for this forever and while I would love it, I doubt we’ll get it.

Chuck it onto the “needs a remake” list alongside MGS etc.

“pentumont”

Never heard of it - sounds French.

So now 720p is fine as long as its upscaled to 4K?

Nope. Internal resolutions matter.

As for 120hz, GoWR runs at a far higher resolution than this @ 120hz, and looks 10x better.

Heck, if this was the Series S @ 720p we'd be tearing it a new one.

It's not really a trap they can simply avoid though, you're legally required to answer a subpoena (unless the court overrides it).

1229d ago 12 agree69 disagreeView comment

I said it will go through but only with concessions in court.

Whether you consider that smoothly or not is up to you :P

Sony who just launched a new subscription service, are working on 12 live service games, and just acquired Bungie for their live service games & online services tech.

Totally not doubling down on services /s

1229d ago 3 agree24 disagreeView comment

@MrNinosan How is that downtalking Sony or MS? I'm not against them launching services 🤷

1229d ago 1 agree25 disagreeView comment

Smart move. Subpoenaing them for their revenue data - this will instantly disprove Sony's "oh woe is me, we're bankrupt without Activision" stance.

1229d ago 30 agree146 disagreeView comment

Nintendo have always been off doing their own thing - and it's working for them, the Switch is wiping the floor with the PS5 and XS.

But Sony and Microsoft are both doubling down on services, for those 2 companies, that is the big focus this generation.

720p on a PS5?
20fps in quality mode?

Yikes, they really did a terrible job optimizing this. Now the crazy high PC requirements make sense.

1229d ago 9 agree6 disagreeView comment

Agree. 2 years on this is insane. Square pulled a fast one here.

1229d ago 3 agree5 disagreeView comment

I think we'd all anticipated this flopping based off of the trailers + demo. So not a huge surprise. That's 1 of the big 3 for PS5 this year down - but at least the other 2 are more predictable in terms of quality.

There was a part of me that thought maybe reviewers would review this well and gamers would not, given some of the reviewer opinions we saw on the demo - but that appears not to have been the case.
