I won't lie and say I'm not bummed out over ditching UC (and potentially TLOU), but I'm also excited to see what new IP they come up with.
Shadow dropping that was a great idea, it gave the negative media and online communities no chance to dunk on it for weeks for "omg cartoon graphics!", "clearly made for gamepass" etc.
Instead, it was a great surprise for gamers, is being well received, and is performing well in sales, despite being on GamePass.
Microsoft has had a rough few first years of the Xbox Series for sure - but in 2023 they're lined up a lot better than PS thus far.
I'm more concerned about the fact we're only getting FF16 and SM2 on PS this year (so far), and we already know Forspoken was a flop. Heck, it's not even been out a week and it's already on sale.
Yes. This game falls into the Abandoned category - they’re just better at doing it than blue box were, from a financial aspect at least.
Well, why not?
You didn’t give us any constructive feedback as to why it’s not a GOTY contender. My guess is you haven’t even played it to be able to make such statements.
@IRetro “ You wanna shit on forspoken for a dynamic res but its ok with forza”
Dynamic res is fine, 720p is not. I’d be willing to bet good money that Forza won’t be that low res.
It also won’t have terribly annoying dialogue so there’s that too :p
@shinoff Yeah I saw those people, but they’re wrong - on both sides. There are plenty of great looking cross gen games. Heck, RDR2 never got a next gen upgrade and still looks greater than or...
Well it worked - it’s #4 on Steam right now.
The Apple effect. Mic drop announcements have a big impact on consumers.
Looks like this is performing well. While we don’t have Xbox data yet - it’s #5 on Steam.
Yep, and it worked - it’s current #5 on Steam.
Why? That showcase could be tomorrow… next week… March… April… between now and E3 is a big window.
Nothing we can infer about the release date from that.
One would assume video games - that is typically what is shown at E3.
MAU == Money.
People on XB1 and PS4 are still feeding money to Microsoft and Sony. Source device is irrelevant - dollars are dollars.
@darkrider
"Ray tracing is amazing on replays because while playing in first view, not 3rd noob view, you don't see your car."
Right... but you still see the other cars... and the world around them... first person view is irrelevant.
"Ray tracing is just a waste of power on this machines"
Doesn't look like they sacrificed much in the way of visuals here to support RT - It's 4k60 and loo...
@Sierra So now you agree, that black cars DO reflect and that their raytracing model is good.
Great, we are in agreeance then.
p.s., no where in my post did I say black paint reflects.
Meanwhile, back in the real world, black (clean and polished) cars reflect, with less diffusivity, more-so than other cars.
Tell me you don't understand high school physics without telling me you don't understand high school physics.
The material, and the roughness of a material (among other factors) both affect the reflectivity, with smooth surfaces, like those found on a car, causing specular reflections.

@Sierra Yes it did, and it launched with worse visuals, bare environments, no on-track raytracing... so... not a true next-gen racer, at least not when put up against this new Forza game.
@Sierra 720p is unacceptable for a $499 console with 10TF+ power. Especially when the game is touted as "Designed For PS5". It's that simple 🤷

"Black cars do not behave like a mirror, no matter how much wax on you do."
Eh, I own a black car, and yes they do. If properly cleaned and polished.
