Meanwhile, back in the real world:
Hi-Fi Rush, a game which launched day 1 into GP is in the top sellers charts, and even outperformed Forspoken, a PS/PC exclusive that was not in game pass. In fact, it even outperformed it in terms of revenue, despite Forspoken getting $40 more per unit sold.
I guess one might conclude that people buy games, even when in GP.
@Flawless He asked why, so I replied with the 'why' they shared in the article 🤷
Not my words, but the words of the author of the article.
Your above statement isn't even accurate though, studios like ND were well established before Sony acquired them. Crash bandicoot sold about 7m copies, which back in the day was huge. Insomniac were independent for 23 years, they were clearly well established before Sony acquired them.
But if 'having a long-term working relationship' is enough to justify an acquisition, then I guess MS are good? Bethesda had been working with them for decades on PC & Xbox, X...
Please tell me the story about how Sony built up Bungie & Destiny 🍿
Also, lets completely ignore the fact that 15 of their 22 currently active studios are the result of acquisitions.
She's trolling and talking BS, but so are Sony, so I guess it's fair game 🤷
I bet the FTC hasn't seen this much BS and trolling before, they probably regret getting involved lol.
That seems hard to believe. The intro literally has in bold text "Based on the PlayStation Studios vdeo game".
I mean, it mentions it right there in the next sentence that he casually cut out:
"80% of Dead Space's physical sales were on PS5, with the remainder on Xbox. Again, this will likely change once the digital data is in as Xbox gamers tend to download more."
They've also confirmed this is coming to GamePass day 1 again: https://www.windowscentral....
From my own experience, but you can also find it in the tech reviews that are out: https://www.youtube.com/wat...
And I suspect DF's video tomorrow will show the same drops.
@Goosejuice The patch fixes the PS5 VRS issues. The change they're making for PC is to allow VRS to be disabled (which should've been an option from day 1...)
You are saving both time and bandwidth if you don't download and play these terrible games 🤷
Never even heard of these. Utter garbage.
Save yourself the time and bandwidth - subscribe to GP and get Hi-Fi rush instead.
I haven't seen their FPS video yet - the video they uploaded today doesn't focus on that - and the FPS one is apparently currently Patreon only (which I'm not) - so I guess we'll get to see their public comparison tomorrow.
It sounds like they came to the same conclusion though, they also mention the other video is coming soon:
"If you can't wait for that patch and have a choice, I'd recommend playing on Xbox Series X over PS5...
@Nyxus Once again... https://www.gamesindustry.b...
"Across both physical and digital, 42.7 million games were bought, which is a 34% increase over 2019. The majority of the games, 24.5 million, were downloaded (which is up 74% over 2019)."
I've provided you with many links showing that the UK is more digital than physical. Wh...
I saw the Elanalista video, but he basically only showed the section where you first arrive on the Ishimura where nothing is going on.
[Spoiler warning if you haven't played DS original or remake]
Try OS instead: https://www.youtube.com/wat...
DF has their framerate comparison coming out tomorrow too.
Sorry but if you really believe physical games still outnumber digital games, you're either being misled or are choosing to believe a lie.
https://www.gamesindustry.b...
PC + Console: 98% digital, 2% boxed
Console only: 72% digital, 28% boxed
Overall market revenue: 94.2% digital, 5.8% boxed
It's been this ...
I said I want numbers, percentages are relative.
But yes, it is better to have combined data, at least then you're looking at the entire dataset.
The problem is the patch won't fix the root problem - the patch can't make it hardware VRS, because the PS5 doesn't support it - and SW is always slower than HW.
As more games start to adopt VRS, this will become more problematic when it comes to performance.
The centrifuge / zero-g sections drop 15-20fps (in the 60fps mode).
Well that sucks for Japan and will kill the sales MS had there (which weren't many). Hopefully they don't do it across the board like Sony did.
