That's utter garbage though. This is an acquisition to boost internal development resources rather than acquire new IP, it's not the same type of acquisition as Zenimax for example.
It's an acquisition that benefits PlayStation studios and their needs, it's not about 'keeping up with MS'.
They HAVE to be the next target, it just makes perfect sense. Especially after TGA last night.
Which reaction? I wasn't the one who went off topic and derailed what should be a celebration about PlayStation.
This is a smart, tactical acquisition. This studio has helped bring a lot of games to light and will really speed up development and improve the quality of games.
@meekvulture I find it funny that rather than celebrate the acquisition he has chose to talk about Microsoft constantly - totally off topic.
On topic: This is a great, tactical acquisition by Sony, this team will really help speed up development and improve quality.
Not everything is about Microsoft you know... why not just sit back and enjoy the fact that PS has made another smart, tactical acquisition?
If Kotaku says it… it must be the best campaign opening in the history of gaming.
Also every review praised the opening levels.
@dbcoops Because that's how the English language works? Thoughts are put in quotations...
I've given you your free English class for the day, you're welcome.
And it looked visually as good as a ND game IMO, if not better, I'm excited to see what devs can do with UE5 this generation.
Well that's the beauty of opinions - you are not wrong, and I am not wrong. Lets see how it shakes out - but I am very impressed with how great the game looks.
I've finished HB, and every ND game. So what? HB2 looks great.
The trailer is for Hellblade 2, not Hellblade 1. And dang, it looks a LOT better than Hellblade 1 with the new hardware, UE5 and presumably bigger budget.
This was the best announcement of the show IMO.
Also, Remedy finally doing a survival horror game? Sign me up.
The announce for this was frustrating, given that Del Toro hinted 'maybe we'll get another Silent Hill' and then they introduced this developer with 'a developer from Japan who is a friend of Geoff' and then a 'history of Silent Hill' type statement... I was really hyped for Silent Hill + Kojima + Del Toro coming back.
This actually looked pretty decent - I'm interested to try out a Remedy Entertainment Shooter.
Very well deserved, congrats to the team. Their games are always spectacular, and it's hard to find good couch coop games nowadays.
Funny you should say that - my initial reaction to the trailer was actually "Microsoft now has their own Naughty Dog".
Hot dang, this is the best looking game I've seen to date. I'll admit it, I was one of the skeptics when they showed what they claimed was 'in-engine' footage previously, but they seem to have delivered.
Proud of my purchase, especially given how hard it is to get consoles right now 🤷
Dang bro, you got me. I bought 2 PS5's, costing over $1000, because I really love, and wanted an Xbox /s
Makes perfect sense.
Not every gamer has the same requirements or preferences. Options are important.
e.g. Some parents turn off cross-play in games like Fortnite etc. because other platforms (namely, PC) are less policed than managed platforms like PS, Xbox, Switch and they don't want their kids to be subject to offensive text/voice/nametags etc.
You can probably also turn it off console-wide, but then it would hit every game, and some games are worse than others, so per...
