PS4 is holding back next gen :p
@Fishy I expect it to be better than CODV & BF2042, but worse than Halo.
So that's not a bad spot to land in. Some of the gameplay elements sound interesting/unique.
@Captain The campaign is different from the MP beta, basically entirely different - it's not even built on the same engine. It's being developed by Remedy and supposedly has more of the 'Remedy special abilities' that their games have. For example, you can slow time like in Max Payne.
I have very high hopes on Remedy making a great FPS experience.
I guess they want to be the next T2/Rockstar...
@Chevalier Where did I say Xbox/Nintendo make more revenue than PS? I didn't.
What he wrote was that the top 20 games in the UK show everything you need to know - and the top 20 games in the UK show Nintendo dominating... so congrats to Nintendo I guess.
@CaptainHenry CrossFire X is out in about a month, and I bet Remedy are going to do an awesome job on it.
@sparky I agree, it looks like we are set for a direct copy of last year really.
@Jericho1337 I've said it before and I'll keep saying it until it happens - Sony need to offer us a PS GamePass. It looks like they may do that later this year.
@crazyCoconuts "Don't forget GP is an extra $180 a year on top of Gold"
That is completely false. GP Ultimate is $180 and includes XBL Gold (and EA Play).
Also, I play on PC, so I don't even need gold and I pay $120/yr (with EA play)
I came here to ask if this is on PC GamePass too or just console, and then found my answer, for anyone else with the same question:
“The HITMAN Trilogy will be available with Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate on January 20”
These games are well worth a download - check them out!
Agreed. The X was a nice little box but there’s no correcting the total cluster that was Xbox One launch, and when you screw up your launch that much, you’re stuck with it through the end of the generation.
The positive is that it seems to have acted as a course corrector for Microsoft, similar to PS3 for Sony. It now seems like they’re going in the right direction, being more consumer friendly and being more competitive.
Except it gets 0 fps on next gen games such as Starfield… I think I’d rather have the $300 next gen console instead.
That seems fair, it would be weird to keep the X on the shelves given it’s $200 more than their cheapest next gen console, but is last gen.
And there’s likely no interest in the anaemic launch model / One S.
Plus Microsoft’s confusing naming doesn’t help consumers.
And let us use our disks. I have a LOT of PS1, 2 and 3 games I don’t want to re-buy digitally at marked up prices.
To suggest that spoofing the clock suddenly means we’re about to get PS3 back compat is quite a leap. There are many other parts to achieving such goal - for example emulating all of the SPU’s and how they process jobs etc.
As for PS1 and 2 - no fancy patent required there - a PS4 and 5 can easily emulate those. In fact, on a jailbroken PS4, you can use Sonys official emulator to play most earlier games with a decent compatibility rate given these games were never tested/re...
Agreed - this looks very well optimized, heck the min spec includes a 900 series nvidia card - that’s a very old card nowadays.
"they have what 19 first party studios working on games for ps5. To port those titles to pc would take 19 studios"
Except it won't... how many of those 19 studios are releasing games this year? A handful at the most. And the porting studio doesn't have to rewrite the entire game, the time consuming parts of the design/development are already done. You're talking about basically changing to support DirectX (which the engine may already support), adding ...
This game was one of my favorite games of last year, and it's only in early access. If you loved the old SWAT series, you MUST try this out.
@anast I don't know, I was led to believe that everyone has a high spec gaming PC and that was why no one had to buy an Xbox (and now no longer have to buy a PS either).
I guess we'll start seeing the rise of the Switch+PC gaming combo.
So? It's not like PC gaming is a new niche concept and has no existing customers.
There are tons of people already playing on PC - that is a huge addressable market for Sony, and they know it, hence the PC releases.
Yes, Sony dropped a ton of cash on PC porting studios so they can port games 4 years later.
It's almost like they aren't a business and don't want to make money... /s
I bet we'll see HFW and Ragnarok PC ports in 2022 or 2023 at the latest - and as a PS5 player, that is fine. The more people who experience the games the better, and the more money Sony gets to make more games.
Someone playing the game on PC doesn't so...
“ It was a 1 year console”
Huh? X1X came out in 2017, Series X in 2020 - that’s at least 3 years.
And it’s technically more than 3 since X1X has been able to play almost every Series X game that came out in 2021, and will still play a bunch of 2022 games.
