He said XSX is selling faster than XB1.

He didn’t mention PS3 (nor PlayStation at all) but since you wanted to go there we can make the same comparison for you - PS3 was not outselling the PS2, so yes, the message was different.

Great news, glad they managed to hit this date after the small delay. Now we just need a 'gone gold' announcement for GT to follow.

So if we both made a product, and your product sold 50 million, mine sold 100 million - would you consider your work a failure? I bet not - selling 50 million would be great, especially if it's outselling your previous product.

"Remember back when being behind by 2 million units was a big deal?"

One could also say remember back when console sales were a big deal... nowadays there is more to your revenue stream than selling hardware at a loss...

@darthv72 Thanks! I admit in my head I was looking at PS5vsPS4 and XSXvsXB1, I should've been more clear :D

But yeah, looking at generational growth is important. And I'm glad all 3 hardware manufacturers are doing well - the day where we end up with just 1, we (as gamers/consumers) are going to get slammed.

So if Android phones outsell iPhone does that mean the iPhone isn’t a success and isn’t doing great?

Insert any other item if you wish - cars, TVs, graphics cards etc.

The PS5 is selling faster than past PlayStations, the XSX is selling faster than past Xbox’s.

Seems like great news to me - And it’s great for us consumers. Competition is important.

I’m a PS5 gamer and even I can see the industry is going great and hav...

Another terrible month.

They should either improve it or just kill it already and tell people GamePass is where you go to get games via subscription.

One product selling more than the other doesn’t mean the other isn’t doing great too - that’s illogical and not how business works.

Take TVs for example, LG may outsell Samsung, but that doesn’t mean Samsung aren’t doing great.

They are all outselling and outpacing their previous console iterations - so they are all doing great. Perfectly sound logic.

God forbid consumers get annoyed at paid upgrades when the same parent company and studio has done similar upgrades for free, and their competitor is too.

Must be fake rage, because consumers love paying as much as possible for things /s

PS5 and XSX are going great, especially given how difficult it is to actually buy them.
Nintendo are still wiping the floor with everyone though in the current month to month sales.

Is it? I was under the impression it was NOT a total remaster.

What are they doing that makes it a complete remaster?

But it's also only $10 for an upgrade (technically $5 per game), I wouldn't call that premium in terms of pricing - a McDonalds meal costs more. The part that stings more is for those who got it via PS+ and now have to pay full price.

It is a great DLC - and it makes sense to give it away ahead of the 'sequel'.

You're probably mistaking this for Tiny Tina's Wonderland which is coming out in March.

This is the Borderlands 2 DLC that came out back in November - I got it free on the Epic store back in November.

Pretty weak month this time. Planet Coaster is the stand out game here - strongly recommend trying it out!

+1 Maximus. Thanks for sharing!

@Ninver The 360 came out in 2005… we didn’t have content subscriptions like PSNow and gamepass… PS+ didn’t even exist… XBL gold didn’t give free games… Spotify didn’t exist and Netflix were still mailing out DVD’s.

It’s almost like industries have changed a lot over the last two decades, along with the metrics used.

I agree - they aren’t. But these companies also know how to drive/indirectly control which headlines will be written about them.

So they will of course pick the best metric to broadcast.

Corporations obviously choose the best numbers to announce as headlines/key beats so they look good to shareholders and potential investors. Why would you lead with your weaker numbers?

This isn’t just a Microsoft thing. Sony, Nintendo and every other corporation does this.

@anubisgold Where did you get game pass for free? They currently bill me for it.

@Crows90 I assume they mean campaign. It’s only ~2 million more than Forza which is not free to play and the numbers line up with how many subscribers game pass has.

1605d ago 28 agree9 disagreeView comment

It sounds like they’re referring to the Halo campaign - which is not free to play.

Forza Horizon 5 is definitely not free to play.

But the numbers make sense, if they have 25 mil Game Pass subscribers, you can probably assume most GP subscribers are going to try out the big games like Halo and Forza.
