@poppatron It is, but it’s $5 more for EA play on console than it is on PC.
It’s one studio but it blows your theory wide open.
Fortunately. I hope they keep doing what they’re best at and don’t try to become a live service company like others.
It’s hard to really say Square, Capcom or Ubisoft would cripple Xbox.
- The best square games end up PS exclusive anyway
- Capcom doesn’t really have huge hitters that they release regularly
- Ubisoft games are trash.
I would rather see Sony acquire Konami and rescue IPs like MGS and SH.
Also, they forked out 3.6bn, not million.
So how did Sony grow Bungie? And was the 3.6bn dollars fake news? Because that is “shit loads of money”.
Doubt. Are we seriously meant to believe the biggest lover of loot boxes isn’t interested in and investigating NFTs?
So VGChartz is off by about 1mil. Glad to see all of Sony in the black.
“Plans Over 10 Live Service Games”
Please, no.
Oh yeah, if you have a mechanical drive, an SSD is an instant fix for windows being slow as hell, even just the boot up alone is like 10x faster.
Having SSDs in these next gen consoles makes such a huge difference - especially in larger/open world games
@alb1899 Sure, it costs money. Over the course of a console generation you'll probably get that money back though - via cheaper games and no XBL gold.
@iplay1up2 EA Play is only included in ultimate, which costs $15, we are comparing $10 PC GP vs $10 XB GP.
To be honest, I'd say Destiny has the opposite problem, there's too much content, not too little.
I know people who jumped in late/when it went F2P and are basically drowning in content, it can actually be quite overwhelming.
Sure, but most gamers end up paying for gold.
Even if you don't, for the same price, PC game pass has EA Play while console does not, so it's still more bang for your buck.
It'll probably come to PC yeah, I'd set myself up to play it in February so I guess I'll have to dust off the old XB1 - probably not the best way to play it but whatever.
I'm just interested to see how Remedy handle an FPS campaign and if it's any good.
The key difference is the financing available - MS buys up huge publishers at huge prices, Sony buys up individual studios at lower prices.
It's not even fair to compare them really given the size difference in the two companies.
PC gets similar value, if not more.
Game Pass on PC is $10 and includes GP games + EA Play.
Xbox Game Pass is $10 and only includes GP games, no EA Play.
Console gamers also need to buy XBL gold, you do not.
So technically, you're getting a better deal than console gamers (if you play EA games).
I was excited to try out the CrossfireX campaign by Remedy, and for some reason I had it in my head that the game was also coming to PC, but looks like it's console only...
At 3.6bn they need to have new franchises in the works.
We do live in funny times though, Crash and Spyro as Xbox exclusives, OG Halo studio in PS first party studios.
Now we just need Nintendo to do something crazy like buy Capcom or Konami.
It's more than 3-4 though, off the top of my head (and I likely missed some, and some are new/unestablished also):
- DOOM
- Quake
- Wolfenstein
- Dishonored
- Prey
- Deathloop
- The Evil Within
- RAGE
- Elder Scrolls
- Fallout
- Starfield (new)
- Redfall (new)
- Ghostwire Tokyo (new)
- Indiana Jones game (new)
That PS5 VRR update can’t come soon enough.
