They must be selling a lot of Series X then given the sales numbers.
You’d think the cheaper SKU would sell more. But I guess early adopters are more likely to spend more on tech.
Revenue is irrelevant. But if you like games then you’ll know Activision have some of the biggest and best franchises in the industry.
So the deal is important. Let’s hope Microsoft’s fanfare about keeping the games on PS isn’t just talk to get the deal approved.
Shrug, the only reason we have games on PS this first quarter is because of delays - otherwise it would be empty too.
We also just got out of a very dry period for PS5 and it didn’t seem to affect sales or cause a loss in momentum, so I don’t see why it would for Xbox.
@Flawlessmic I never saw an announcement that it was coming to Sport or GT7? Can you link that?
Also, I'll remain skeptical until I see it in there - most of the time these R&D project things (from all companies) have a lot of fanfare and don't arrive ultimately.
But the fact remains, there is nothing to buy here today or in the immediate future for Sophy, so my comment is accurate - I'm unsure what he's planning on picking up? GT Spor...
But it's not actually in the game... GT Sport has been out since 2017 and didn't receive any update recently (according to my console).
48 old maps for an 8 year old game you mean. Yes, I am complaining. I love MK8 but it's time for MK9.
Just give us MK9 already. $25 DLC (which is clearly meant to push people towards their online subscription) for old tracks? Yeesh.
But GT Sport isn’t a next gen game… Infact it’s from 2017.
Pick what up? There’s nothing to buy here.
Yeah, that is what I expect/hope. And agreed, pretty sure a huge company like Microsoft has government contacts to verify this will actually go through before announcing.
Warzone: Definitely stays on PS
COD and other large existing franchises: Probably stays on PS, but included in GP day 1 + Xbox (or Xbox GP) perks
New franchises, spin offs, smaller games (Crash etc): Probably Xbox exclusive
What is funny about that? People do that all the time.
Just because a studio is under the same parent company doesn't mean it's identical. Maybe he prefers the location? the work culture? the game they're working on?
He'd need to be living in a fantasy world to try and deny that it had issues.
While I think the things outlined in this article are good, I take it all with 1000 grams of salt until the acquisition actually goes through and we see the behavior in action. MS would say anything to get this deal approved.
Yeah... I would've loved some RDR2 DLC. It would've also been great if we got a zombie expansion again!
Yeah... crazy they're still releasing it. I saw this going around on Twitter (Source: Jason Schreier):
Entire Assassin's Creed series (as of Nov 2020): 155 million copies
Entire Final Fantasy series (as of Sep 2021): 164 million copies
Entire Resident Evil series (as of Dec 2021): 123 million copies
Grand Theft Auto V (as of Feb 2022): 160 million copies
That is nuts. And you know they’re about to get millions more when it launches on next gen.
That's pretty awesome if true (and not streamed), the Arkham games are great and it would be nice to have them on Switch.
But if plenty are available... people can't be buying them or they would be unavailable 🤷
Unless you're somehow suggesting Microsoft are the only HW/tech company in the world not affected by the shortages. I'm sure other companies would love to know how they solved it.
Do you know how many of the ~140k sold were Series S? Otherwise your comment is pointless.
They need to be proper ports. Not like the Wii back in the day where it was basically a completely different game a lot of the time.
