Does anyone still care about this game? I'm surprised they aren't putting it in GP to be honest.
I can't help but feel REDEngine being replaced with UE is down to how much they struggled with CP2077, sometimes maintaining your own engine and pipelines is just too much work, and any kind of bottleneck severely impacts title development.
More live service GAAS, hard pass. I'd much rather they went and bought a studio like Remedy/Konami/Capcom or Ember Labs (probably more in line with what it cost to acquire Haven).
Sony should just bite the bullet splash the cash on someone big like Konami. They mostly buy dirt cheap studios, and when they finally splash the cash, they buy Destiny...
It’s better than nothing, no? The aid money will help struggling families over there.
What did you want them to do? Form a no fly zone!?
Those are fair points. I guess back in the day I just assumed they’d end under Sony and they didn’t.
@SullysCigar That hasn’t ruined Remedy though, most people associate CFX with SmileGate, not Remedy, and they still have a good reputation and will continue to have creative freedom - I have high hopes for AW2.
@CaptainHenry God, if you think CFX is one the worst games, you should try out some of the games that scored even lower than it :p I recommend Ride to Hell 😂
I’m glad that didn’t happen. The Microsoft back then is not the Microsoft of today, it would’ve limited their creativity and ultimately ruined Remedy.
A Remedy acquisition by Epic seems more likely nowadays.
To this day, I am still very surprised that Sony did not buy Quantic. Especially after the HR, Beyond and Detroit era. Perhaps they tried but weren’t successful.
And now they’re off making multi-plats. Interested to see how their new title is.
🤭😆
I’ll still be trying this out, I really like the art style and I think it’ll still be a fun play through.
Plus, it’s in game pass day 1, so worst case I lose some bandwidth.
Which part am I lying about? Obviously none of it.
Also, “ Tempest is UNQUESTIONABLY SUPERIOR for audio gaming”
Hard to say something is “unquestionably superior” when it doesn’t even support surround speaker setups properly.
I have a 7.1.4 system, the reason my post above says 7.1 is because it’s the maximum supported channel count on PS5, so my options on my console are use 5.1 or 7.1
“ When your connecting your PS5...
@Combinator So you’re saying the PS5 DOES support Atmos? Because their own website and the console OS say otherwise.
Just when you think they’ve already made a simulator game for everything…
I’m confused.
1. How are Dolby fleecing me? I bought a speaker system, I got the speaker system I paid for. Where’s the fleecing?
2. How are Microsoft fleecing me? They don’t own Dolby nor did I pay them anything to have a Dolby system
3. Where did I mention Xbox? My post is asking for Sony to add Atmos support.
4. You’re totally wrong on the verticality part, a good system with a good array of upfiring speakers gives...
I don’t game much with a headset and haven’t tried Atmos on a headset so can’t talk to that much.
But for a speaker system, Atmos is a lot better.
I’m not saying drop tempest though - I’m saying add support for it, in addition to tempest.
Huh?
The audio source limit was a mistake by Cerny. Dolby came out immediately and corrected him: https://gamerant.com/dolby-...
You pay a one time fee of about $10-$15 I think, for headsets only. It’s free if you have speakers or a receiver, soundbar etc.
I don’t game with a headset but if I did, I’d probably be willing to pay $10-15 for a license, heck...
I’m using an X series Denon. I can get it to work with 7.1 and 5.1 but I would say the 5.1 mix sounds better than the 7.1, for some reason 7.1 sounds terrible, with random audio coming out of the upfiring speakers. 5.1 doesn’t seem to exhibit the same issue.
I’ve only had that problem with PS5, but the only other non-Atmos device I have hooked up is a Switch and my PS4 has been relegated off the TV stand since I upgraded my sound system so… not much to compare to currently....
@HatchetForce That only works for standard stereo speakers, my TV has Atmos. I also use an external Atmos sound system anyways, so neither of my options are supported.
@Combinator You made my point for me - no Dolby Atmos.
