It feels like we see a new report out of ATVI on a weekly basis right now.
Normally I'd say MS should leave their acquired company alone to do its own thing, but in this case I really hope that once this deal closes, Microsoft can impose their culture on Activision and make sure these kind of situations don't happen again - and if they do, are handled appropriately and swiftly.
Probably. There's also likely some chance Activision will settle these out of court for a large sum of money before the acquisition closes to save face, that will probably pull out some extra reports.
I'm not diminishing their accusations / lived experiences or saying they only care about cash, but if you were on the fence about going public, the current publicity around ATVI and the fact they're about to close a record-breaking deal with MS, may convince you to...
And that matters why? Is Mexico no longer a country? Does it not matter? Some people would say the same about the small country that is the UK...
He asked for links to somewhere he could easily buy a PS5 at MSRP via a store/not an auction site, I gave him 6 links including the official Sony store. My job here is done.
Are those the only two countries in the world? Nope.
Also, XSX isn't in stock on those sites, as I said above, stock means nothing - but people seem to think it does, so I guess there's something to read into that.

It's crazy how strong the industry is right now.
I remember back when covid started, internally in the industry there was a lot of talk about how this would cause a crash, people wouldn't have the money to buy games etc, but in reality, it's surged as a form of lockdown entertainment, so much so that despite the economic impacts of covid, people are out buying $500 consoles and $60-70 games.
I'm not minimizing the impact of COVID on people...
And the PS5 & SWOLED are readily available in smaller countries too - so what? Stock varies by region.
Something being in stock or not is also irrelevant information unless we know how many units they've produced.
The new consoles being based on recent/new technology rather than dated technology like previous generations has really helped accelerate PC gaming which has typically been held back by the consoles - and it's great.
The support for NV cards is pretty sweet and definitely appreciated after having lived through the years of having to have specific combinations of GPU and monitor etc. to use the various graphics technologies.

Both of which are developing DirectX games on PC...
Still waiting on that GitHub link for FSR v2, can't be that hard to find an open-source project? They want it discovered.
"Nor did it stop people like you from saying PS5 wasn't even going to have FSR, and/or didn't even have ML."
Who are people like me? Deve...
Again, you are referring to FSR v1. I'm aware of what open source is. FSR v2 is currently not open source.

I'm still waiting on you linking me to the source code for FSR v2. Shouldn't be too hard - presumably AMD linked to it somewh...
That is FSR v1, not v2.
v1 is open source, v2 is not open source - yet.
Currently the only way to consume it is via compiled libraries & DX12. AMD themselves state this: https://gpuopen.com/fidelit...
"Supports:
DirectX®12.
Vulkan® (expected later)"
"Looking for the source code? ...
That quote says nothing at all, and as expected, you have no source to back up your claims - but you just confirmed what I wrote above:
"As I stated above, it is not available today, but it will come to PS5 in due course - either through AMD/Sony officially supporting it or via developers compiling the open source version into their title."
Thanks, we're done here.
You have a source stating FSR v2 is available on PS5? Link?
"PS5 has a graphics API"
Every games console has a graphics API...
Well apologies here, but I'm going to go with AMD and what they've said they support over what you're saying... I trust them to be more knowledgeable on the topic of their own libraries.

Imagine how different the industry would be today if this had happened. Weird to think about what snowball effects this acquisition would've had.
It's nothing to do with hardware. FSR requires support at the graphics API level. Currently AMD has only made this support available to DirectX12.

"FSR 2.0 technology has been developed from the ground up, and is the result of years of research from AMD. It has been designed to provide higher image quality compared to FSR 1.0, our original op...
You answered your own question, you even listed a shipped game that utilizes it.
The PS5 currently supports AMD FSR v1.
v2 is currently only available for DX12 (Windows + Xbox). That being said, this will arrive on PS5 sooner or later.
*In your opinion.
The rest of us are aware of the issues, and if they're just swept under the rug, Sony will continue to do similar things in future games which will be bad for all of us who game on their platform / play their games.
Not sure why they didn't put this in the patch notes, this is a pretty big win for those with ALLM TV's.
I'm glad they're finally introducing the new TV tech like ALLM, VRR (soon) etc. I wish it would've all been there since launch, but it is what it is. Next up they need to support 1440p.
