Dolby works with TV speakers and soundbars, Tempest has zero support for both of those. Dolby also works with headphones.

So yes, it's better.

I honestly wish Sony would just support Atmos already. I don’t care about Tempest or headsets, and Dolby audio is a lot, lot better.

The fact I can’t properly utilize my Atmos system on my PS5 is lame. I even have to downgrade it to 5.1 to get any kind of decent sound out of the console.

You mean large volumes of people are going to be paying MS $180/yr without them having to sell a HW product at a loss per customer acquisition? I'm sure Microsoft would love that to be the case.

But we already know this isn't how it goes. People haven't stopped buying Xbox and PS consoles because XCloud and PSNow exist.

What this may end up doing though, is getting some extra customers for XCloud/GamePass from Steam users. Ultimately, I'm ...

Time and the PS4's success has changed Sony:

Single player has been unavailable now for 15 hours.

And people were saying that it was totally fine and acceptable that this game is always online… that didn’t age well.

Game devs need to stop forcing always online into modes that don’t require it.

The game looks great - excited to try it out!

I liked SoD 1 and 2, so I'm interested to see what they can do now that they have more budget & resources etc.

Not a huge improvement visually IMO, but the 60fps is nice for sure - going back to the console version after playing the PC version is rough.

The previews for this are looking very promising. I'm expecting 88-90 meta and I expect it to be a very good game overall. Zenimax are killing it lately.

Please make TEW3 next though, thanks!

I can’t play sales numbers though, can I?

Nor does it make any difference to me since I’m not an investor in either company.

Visuals on the other hand, I experience as a player and are core to my experience.

Or it shows how dated GT7 really is. The tracks in particular are so lifeless, dated and bare.

Nostalgia is what is delivering the game good reviews.

I’m an adult, non-casual gamer who spends way too much money on games, but I subscribe to GamePass because it’s a more cost effective method for me to get access to their games.

Soon it’ll be even more cost effective when Activision games show up day 1.

The sooner Sony release a GamePass equivalent the better.

Except it is. Turnover in this industry is high due to crunch/work conditions, dev cycles being long and the fact that everyone always has open positions, so that’s how you get more money / level up easily.

More common for lower level staff than directors sure, but still common. I’ve seen it happen many times.

It might be the 2nd biggest entertainment industry but the number of skilled workers in the industry is relatively small, you always end up working...

I’m surprised they’re still updating this, I hadn’t heard anyone talk about it in years and didn’t even realize they were updating it.

The reality is this is extremely common in this industry. People jump around all the time, because it’s such a small industry with a limited pool of talent you’re almost always guaranteed a promo or pay rise by jumping around.

The thing that is weird here is that he appears to have departed without having a new role elsewhere, so perhaps his departure wasn’t his own choice.

Looks like Xbox actually managed to pull off a new record:

"It is very rare for a publisher to average above 80 for its releases across a single calendar year. But how often does a company average above 85 ? Never ... until this year."

The game definitely launched a lot more instable than HZD, which is surprising given it's GG and had a delay, but it's still a great game.

They'll fix the issues over time, unfortunately for those that picked it up at launch, we get to be beta testers.

But you also stated that people don't pay.. unless they are EA/Ubisoft. It's right above in black and white.

"now when it comes to publishers making above a certain threshold (EA Ubisoft) there is a fee". Kits are still loaned to EA/Ubisoft and have to be returned if they ever stop making games for the platform, so what's the opposite of having a fee? Not having a fee, so being free.
