1) You didn't read my post: I asked people to copy-paste it to GG's forums if they could; because I've been trying to sign up to their forums for weeks to no avail. And that is not my fault.
2) Yes, the controls are indeed customizable. And I've already tried messing around with the sensitivity. The issue, however, has nothing to do with the sensitivity. It's the ACCELERATION, and how it works when applied in the game.
3) If they do indeed take this feedback ...
For talkig sh!t. It was a knee-jerk reaction to people claiming that I'm some type of noob. And you are absolutely right. Real gamers don't "flap their jaw" (great phrase; I'm gonna have to remember this one).
But based on how you are describe aim assist ("Having your sights sway away from your target just because another opponent crosses in front of him..."), it sounds like you don't get what I am criticizing here. I agree that the type of auto aim you ...
I will probably pwn your ass if we ran into each other, like I did with almost everyone I met in the beta 1v1.
I think you are missing point; this game is too hard for your friends. And while it won't exactly kill the GAME, it most certainly will kill the COMMUNITY.
And the community is what I am concerned about.
For your kind words (no sarcasm).
I don't think it's clear though, that I am not speaking for myself. I'll probably play this game a great deal either way. Afterall, it's the most beautiful game I'm going to have played for a really long time.
But I am concerned that this will make it hard to get other people to play it, and without friends to play this with me (and pwn), I'm going to find it difficult to keep playing this game.
And anyone who ch...
I was in the US army (EUSA) myself, between 1998 and 2001, and maintained my expert shooter rating the whole time (used to go to shooting ranges as a kid). And yes, I actually appreciate the level of realism in this game (as noted in the article).
But aiming in this game is HARDER than in real life.
It's as if the gun becomes heavier as you approach a target. It feels more like a badly balanced bazooka than an M-16.
I only burst fire. 2-3 shots at a time.
In nearly every game I joined, I was in the top 5.
And I will probably pwn you if you joined my game.
Doesn't mean that I can't criticize the game for being less friendly.
There is a slider for "sensitivity", and I've found that the problem is less severe when you increase it slightly.
But the problem is with the "accelerator", which makes you swing your gun wildly past your target.
Does that make sense?
It's worse than other FPSs out there. I've played almost every FPS out there, and it is by far THE WORST out there.
And which part of "eventually, I got used to it" did you not read?
My point was that regular gamers will find it too difficult to ENJOY the game. Do you REALLY want to be playing this game by yourself, along with other 1337 douchebags such as yourself, or do you want to have some noobs to pwn in every game?
I choose the la...
on getting uncharted. it's long overdue, but still better than never. try not to get too bogged down with the comparisons. enjoy it for what it is.
and... MAKE SURE YOU FINISH IT.
i've had a few people who were turned off by some parts and decided not to keep going, but the second half of that game is AMAZING, so please do finish it.
as for LBP/R2... meh... they're decent games, but not what we'd hoped they'd be.
I was hesitant, but LBP and R2 both turned out to be not as great as I had hoped (and R2 still has serious network issues; 7 players playing hide-and-seek on 60-player maps does not make a GOTY).
Runner up for GOTY is Dead Speace IMO.
"#1 he did not parade around telling everyone that there would be FULL 60 Player Online Ranked Matches 24/7."
Wow, THIS is how you're going to defend him?
Jesus christ...
Look, I'm not complaining that I didn't get into a full 60-player ranked game 24/7 now. I'm complaining that the only ranked games that work are 10-player games, and you NEVER even get 30 players in a game. I'm not asking for it to be perfect here. I just want some resemblanc...
I'm bugging them about it every day.
"Open your eyes a little and if its not your cup of tea, don't complain there are enough complainers out there already."
I bought two copies of this game. Pre-ordered. Because Ted Price went around to every tradeshow this year promising this as a "60-player games with EXP". Now, THAT is EXACTLY my cup of tea, and the sole reason why I invested my hard-earned cash on this game.
But that turned out to be $130 spent on a game that isn't workin...
I realize that I can't expect "my type of game" to be available at 60p all the time. Of course not.
But when Ted Price repeatedly advertised R2 as having "'unprecedented' 60-player online play" and that people would be "grouped into squads of 5 (i.e. Skirmish)", I don't think it's unreasonable for me to expect to play 60p Skirmish matches when I want to.
But as it stands right now, the biggest ranked skirmish match had 15 players in...
I was kind of hoping for that too, actually. But I had to say what I did because it's one of the responses from the R2 forum, which made me sort of scratch my head... =D
What do you mean by that? (i.e. "it's not out in Europe yet") You don't mean that the matchmaking issues will be resolved once the game is out in Europe, do you? (forgive me if I misunderstood you)
The EU release will not help, for the following two reasons:
1) The current ranked games only hold about 10 people per game. That's 10/60. And with the EU market actually being smaller than the US, there is no way the games will suddently fill up even wit...
Yeah, that's basically what most people are saying, but a few things don't make sense.
1) When you go through the matchmaking system (the "PLAY" button), the match only waits for 15 seconds before starting a game. And regardless of how many people are in the game after the 15 seconds, it'll start right anyway. I think if they increased that wait time to 60 seconds (like most other games), that alone could substantially increase the number of players in each game.

Which difficulty did you play Dead Space on?
On your first run, that is.
I think games have become easier in general as well.
I started playing Dead Space on Hard difficulty (I was hoping for a Gold Trophy at the end), and my god is the ammo-balance JUST like RE1.
If you haven't started playing that game, I highly recommend trying it on Hard. It'll bring back the sense of despair, and that ammo-conserving gameplay will return once again.
I just watched BD and I...
JIZZED! IN! MY! PANTZ!!
