Since Platinum is doing NIER they should do the next Drakengard and use what's leftover of the Scalebound engine. THAT would be an epic game.

The only problem with that is there won't be a 4K TV option in the next 10 years, so there will be no mass format change before 4K gaming/4K streaming becomes a thing. 4K will continue to be the high-end option, but it's really not all that high end anymore so tons of people will change, pretty much anyone who is informed, likes the benefits, and has $500 extra cash lying around.
I can see Scorpio/PS5 being a means of that change ...

Are you f-ing joking? We're at an article with Patcher talking about 4K arriving in 2020. I just bought and am content with a PS4-Pro, the only reason I brought up PS5 is because that's what the article is about. Try reading next time? Talk about shooting the messenger.
With PS5 in 2018-2019 we'll fully exploit 4K for some games very soon. With 1800p for now, there's already an advantage for 4K in 2017. This guy is an idiot.

Good for you. That anecdote only works for you and a few others though. The rest of the market disagrees with you heavily. Wii U didn't even break 15 million sold. So while your kids may like it, everyone else's kids didn't and would gladly play Nintendo games on their PS4s if possible. Nintendo would make a killing by going third party, that's a fact. Far more people would play Nintendo games.

Star Wars would work. I could see anything from IV to IX being a setting.
More importantly is Pixar worlds though. I want to see Toy Story, Finding Nemo being the new underwater world, Brave maybe, Zootopia if possible(not pixar, but still Disney 3D), etc in addition to Big Hero 6 and Tangled.
Wrong, kids love Nintendo games. They have no opinion on the console. Put it on PS4 and their parents will be happy they don't have to buy two consoles, kids will be happy it has better graphics. It's a win all around.

I mean Sora's ditzy as ever, Rikku is becoming all Sora-like, hardly the OP older brother type anymore, and talks about being dark all the time which is getting boring, but doesn't have a dark bone in his body anymore. Kairi is always giggling like a 5 year old.

Umm, we can't have them produce gaming stuff here. If you're talking about consoles, the price of an American made console will be closer to $2000 because of minimum wage alone. If you're talking about games Japan isn't relocating their studios to the US.

You understand no generations means every game would have to be compatible with XB1 from now on... That means Scorpio, the next console, the next, and even the next after that.
No way XB5 games are going to play on XB1... So generations still exist, no matter if you believe it or not.

Exactly. The joycons have a lot of expensive and useless tech for their core game audience that could have gone into graphics instead. NFC as well. I thought they'd be done with those damn amibos by now.
Such an obvious issue. The joycons are pretty worthless, they should have been attached to the main console. Nobody cares about motion controls anymore. They could have also forgone some of the useless tech(accelerometers, gyroscopic, NFC) and thrown it into the GPU for the Tegra X2 instead.
