No. I'd say anime is. Either way western cinema is 99% trash these days and probably the weakest storytelling medium. Easy to think games would be better though with how bad cinema is.
While I'll agree $499 is a bargain for the power but they really could do more for games... I mean if PS4 had a 12gb 6TFLOP monster I'd buy it in a snap. But I can't say the same for Scorpio. I need to see more games.
I personally like the switch to real-time battles. KH, FFXV, and Dissidia all had excellent ARPG systems. KH-BBS proves that debuff magic is just as useful if not more in an ARPG system than turn-based with plenty of strategy. Other KH games both prove magic works well in an ARPG system overall.

I think PS5 will benefit from this big-time. Many PS4 games will run at 4K60 from the get-go. We'll have less remasters and maybe just DLC texture packs to upgrade PS4 games. It should be pretty glorious and really give a ton of value from the start of the gen.
I kind of agree. However it's not all about cartoonish aspects. They can go for realism and fantasy as well. Even when we reach diminishing returns on graphics the last frontier is fantastical landscapes, stuff you wouldn't see in real life. That's how you'll one day see better graphics than reality.

I think FFVIIR will get the combat right. It's got the magic menus and resembles KH which is one of the better ARPG systems. They also have the Dissidia teams onboard and those games were fantastic. It's going to be way more in-depth than FFXV on those two facts alone. Add the materia system and I think it will be good, perhaps even better than FFVII-OG.

Wii was not a success. It sold out for soccer moms and physical therapists, it screwed over it's core audience for four generations before that. After physical therapists and soccer moms found no use they dumped the system and didn't support it's successor. It had the shoddiest attachment rate.
