I... don't... understand. Why would you pay to play online when Nintendo doesn't do online games aside from Mario Kart, Splatoon, and SSMB? You have to use your freggin phone as well?

None of this makes sense to me. Ninty isn't getting the newest shooters either, so what is the point of this? To prove Ninty fans have Stockholm Syndrome?

I might bite if the right games come out for it. Golden Sun, a Zelda with better graphics, the usual Mario Kart 9(if there's an upgrade) and a true Donkey Kong Country 4 would be nice. Also liking Xenoblade 2 although the choice in warddrobe is pretty ridiculous.

But seriously, the hardware is trash.

Wow, this thing barely qualifies as a handheld. Doesn't fit in your pocket, requires a large case to bring around, if you want to put it in your backpack, it'll still require another case because it's too fragile to put in the bag with other stuff. So two cases...

Yeah, it's handheld, but just barely, and with 3 hour battery life. This thing fails as a portable and fails as a home console. It's a freak hybrid(No offense to hybrids, I'm one)

Other big omissions were the empire. Usually they go into depth with the enemy characters, like Scarlet or Rufus in the Shinra Corporation. Ravus, Aranea, the Emporer, Ardyn, we could have seen more of their interactions. Secondly Luna should have gotten more than half a chapter. She had all the makings of a good main character, but was a supporting role instead.

The 60 fps on TLOU Remastered had good motion blur though, after my eyes adjusted it looked great.

60fps on some other games without good motion blur like CoD look terrible at 60 though.

It all depends on how they master the post processing. I'll agree though, movies do look better at 24-30 fps though and interpolation is terrible.

Well an art style that has good enough graphics can be timeless. But BoTW reminds me of a generic PS2 game.

BoTW already looks way, way outdated. I was looking forward to Zelda 2011's style graphics on Wii U and was let down. Never again Nintendo.

@Ozzy I wouldn't even put this thing in a backpack, you could seriously mess up the screen or controls by packing it with the rest of your stuff. If it went into a backpack, it'd need another case to protect it from your stuff. Two cases! The design is ridiculous.

Graphically it's pretty ugly. I bought a Wii U in 2012 expecting to get the Zelda 2011 style game and was let down. I lost my Wii U in storage later on and couldn't care less. The system's graphics were a huge letdown, and are now literally porting the same garbage graphics to Nintendo Switch. Never again Nintendo.

This thing isn't a damn portable. It doesn't fit in your pocket and needs a large case to bring around, not to mention shoddy battery life. Very few people are going to be taking this out, it's some freak console hybrid that's not a good portable or console. (no offense to hybrids out there, I'm one)

Solid game? I guess if you count an endless running, banter, and driving simulator a game... It seriously missed out on so much potential by focusing on fetchquests and ignoring lore respectively: Aranea and Cor being the OP characters didn't affect the story line Auron or Beatrix for their respective games. Luna got half a chapter, when more could have been done. Anemic on CG cutscenes. Cutscenes in general felt like the conversation was half over before they started, weak lore and ...

Yeah that's pretty dumb. Alot of the guys he's hiring are people that revere him and he looks fondly upon himself, not to mention the DNA behind some of his games. They're leaving Konami and joining Kojima for a reason, they're part of his exodus, not the opposition dumbass. This is awesome news, it means Kojima is getting HIS chosen team back together.

And one of those RPGs was a measly 8-Bit retro RPG by Square-Enix. Had it had more power they might have gotten Kingdom Hearts 3(since they're already friendly with Nintendo, and letting Xbox get it) and Final Fantasy XV, perhaps even FFVIIR if they decide to go multiplat.

The standout RPG it had was Xenoblade 2 which I'll admit, looked good from it's perfect balance of anime and 3D, but not every game is going to hit that apex, sorry.

Wrong, if Nintendo would just make a system that was as powerful as the other two and didn't arrive half a gen in, they'd have a huge casual fanbase of casuals who only play Cod, BF, Sports games, etc from 3rd party mainly, and they might even make it their main console because everybody loves Nintendo games.

Nintendo could battle Sony for the crown if they'd get their head out of their ass. No gaming icon in history has as much firepower as Mario, so those CoD...

@Neonridr
Just because Switch can handle UE4 doesn't mean most devs are going to make their games for it. Switch is still far weaker than the other two's base models which means it'll take more to optimize for the system. Most aren't even going to bother.

Bingo. Can't put it in my pocket, it needs a giant case to bring with you anywhere. The bringing to a party thing is stupid, because the screen is too small to share with a friend. Didn't provide mini-HDMI to connect to a friend's tv which would have been about as portable as you could get in that scenario. Using a single joycon as a controller is a terrible idea. Battery is too short. Then you have the main console functionality. Crappy graphics, and having to sign into an...

$300 is cheap, but not for those graphics. That's like saying $5 is cheap. Sure it is, but I wouldn't pay $5 for a single raisin. I pay $5 for a box of raisins. See where I'm coming from? That's the value proposition I see in their console. I'd gladly dish out $400 for an upgraded model though, and I'm still disappointed that they could have done 3-4x better at a lower price tag if this thing was stationary.

@mikeslemonade

That may be true but you understand the economy is shot these days, right? $299 is more difficult to spend when there's shoddy production value and a gimmick at hand. Most gamers would rather upgrade their PC or buy more games for consoles than fall for a gimmick. Believe me, I bought a Wii U and was disappointed at the quality. I don't have an extremely high bar set either. Something like Mario Odyssey with some good AA and a bit better detail w...

They certainly are getting cheaper. By time PS5 rolls around it'll be in the houses of many gamers.
