Breaking My Limit

Again, wrong, most tests show a 5-7% difference in any RAM speeds at all. A quick Google search will bring that up.

Here ya go:

Bull-shit. 1600mhz and 3200mhz will give you a 5% difference, and that's being generous. Maybe if you were on an APU and had no dedicated graphics memory you'd get 20%

Edit- disagrees are getting shafted for RAM. Ask any professional, upgrades are better spent anywhere else than faster RAM speeds because the difference is so minimal. The entire jump to DDR4 was more important for lowering voltage than anything else... Seriously...

@cyrus

There is no way they're remastering all of the assets for XB1X. Now if they're doing a PC version with upgraded assets they might. But they're likely not remastering a huge open world's assets when the game just came out. Honestly much of the FFXV team is probably switched over to S-E Business Division 1 now for FFVIIR.

I doubt native res. PS4 was dynamic 1080p and XB1X is 3x as powerful. Wouldn't it need to be 4x as powerful for 4k? And even so, it'd be dynamic.

I'm saying that Phil said the exclusives he signed are 2-3 years away. By then nex-gen will start. Scorpio is only good for 3rd parties and their AAA exclusives are Forza 7 and Halo 7 from here on out. Sad situation that once the new AAA exclusives get here a new gen has basically started.

Furthermore, seriously? PS360 had a massive install base and they started gen 8 anyway. Also if the new consoles are backwards compatible which is highly likely, less people are...

MS's start was so bad this gen it basically crippled them for the rest of the gen. Scorpio is a step on the right path, but then again those new exclusives are 2-3 years away according to Phil Spencer, and by then PS5 will be here. Sad situation. Maybe better luck nex-gen? I mean that wholeheartedly if they can get their act together now.

Looks good but the only exclusive I care about is Ashen... I am glad Scorpio XB1X has good support though for higher resolutions, this can only be good for Pro players like myself. For example, we're getting the Witcher 3 patch now.

You are nuts. 8K is 4x 4K. If 4K isn't affordable, do you think 4x 4K will be affordable? You'd be looking at a $2500+ console, $1500+ when prices drop because of the node switch to 7nm in 2019. And there would definitely, DEFINITELY be checkerboard involved. Not to mention the amount that games would go up by.
Artists would be paid 16x as much, leading to much higher game costs. Nobody is paying that much. Also, we get that tech cheap because of the APU deal they have...

Yeah but most don't even know the difference visual-wise. Most people are content with their 1080p sets, I know some that are content with 720p.

Very true. This isn't aimed at the casual. Unless you have a ton of money and don't already have a system and/or 4K set, we should simmer down on the mid-gen upgrades. I'm hoping the whole mid-gen thing is axed nex-gen.

The fact that your opinion is the minority?

The fact that my opinion is based on facts?

I doubt it very much. I think most of the informed casuals playing CoD would like exclusives. And most of the casuals playing Madden don't know the difference between XB1S and XB1X...

3175d ago 8 agree1 disagreeView comment

How are casual Xboxers going to even know the difference? Most people will think it's just a new model like the S.

Seriously? The only reason it was $500 was because of Kinect.

Sony doubled their power in 3 years but we haven't even gotten Vega yet or a Ryzen/Polaris APU. Their last process took forever to update and PS4 wasn't top of the line when it released so it was easy to get 2x power. By time we get another node switch for 10TFLOPS for $399 it'll be 2021. That or it's $499 in 2019. Calling it.

It's called sportsmanship and not being an asshole with a god-complex. You really think Sony putting down the competition is going to increase sales? You've got no damn common sense at all.

And if Sony weren't competing, why would they even release games? Your conspiracy theory is as bad as your grammar.

Sony does take sportsmanlike jabs at their opponents from time to time, but not straight up putting down the competition like an asshole. ...

Might as well be GDDR5 with how high that latency must be. Plus we all know you get like no gains from system ram past 1886mhz anyway.

For 9-10 TFLOPS I'd expect $499 in 2019. $399 by 2021. I'd prefer the $499 launch though. Why not give us the option for greater graphics a bit earlier for those that have the money?

3175d ago 3 agree2 disagreeView comment

Yeah but only if AMD updates their process by then. They were pretty slow with the last transition.

I'd say if they're released in 2019 expect $499, 2021, expect $399.

I'd prefer the 2019 launch though.

Seriously what a whack conspiracy theory.

If they could REMAKE D2 with graphics as good as Lost Ark, I'd be interested.

But the simple up-res sprite remaster is nothing special. Give us D4 instead.
