Yeah but Wii's greatest selling game was Wii Sports, selling more than Mario Kart, Zelda, and Mario Galaxy combined. Sad to say but their sales were inflated by physical therapists and soccer moms, not core audience gamers. So it's a bit irrelevant considering that short-lived success is now why they're in last place.
Good to know, I guess. I mean if plenty of games get 4K texture support, that's cool I guess. But I still don't see any exclusives aside from Gears MP, Halo 7 that I'd be interested in, and I'm still burned out of those games from 360-gen. I would have been interested if Mistwalker's new game was in the vein of Blue Dragon/Lost Odyssey on XB1, or if they fixed Scalebound up. Both fell through so I'd have a hard time justifying for better textures on a few games. S...
Seems like you're implying there will be yearly iterative consoles... I doubt that. They make games with optimization in mind. They wouldn't want to optimize for 5 different consoles by each brand at once. After 5 years we'd have 10 consoles. Ridiculous.
It makes sense we'll have PS5, PS6, and by time we get to PS7 we'll be at diminishing returns in many games and the bigger question will be "do users even want to update to PS8 anymore?". ...
So the appeal is at 514p-720p no AA? That must be why PS4 and XB1 have 100 million sold, right Ninty?
In two years when PS5 launches and leaves Switch in the dust again, 4K will be "too limited" once again.
Looks awesome. Here's to hoping we get a localization.
I still don't understand the nonsense behind this. How are you supposed to map out buttons for stopping a crane from falling? Grabbing a helicopter? Short answer, it has to be mapped out to buttons.
I mean these Xboxers want us to break out the PlayStation Move wands to accomplish these actions which is ridiculous. It HAS to be mapped out to buttons. Geez. Simple as that.
Checkerboard 4K looks a lot nicer than non-existent, like the games on your Xbox.
I have, do they work via USB?
Edit, just checked. Yes, please make a 4K dock.
How would this even work though? The dock simply charges and gives an HDMI out. There's nothing that could transmit the game to the dock to be rendered in 4K, even in a future dock version, unless they modify the handheld portion itself(being an entirely new model, not simply a dock upgrade). When the game changes from 720p to 1080p when docked it's simply changing the clock speeds, not transmitting anything to the dock but an upgraded signal.
At their best they co...
Why would you want a console, an underpowered console/unwieldy handheld, and a paperweight?
Maybe nex-gen. They have the performance but don't have the install base. Sorry, but they should have thought about that when they released XB1 with always-online, TV TV TV, no game trading, Kinect required, etc. They'd have a chance had they done a PS4-level console from the start.
Except Sony never said anything about cross-play during Gen 7. They said they were looking into it during Gen 6 and nothing else.
MS also never shot down Sony, they shot down Square-Enix, and didn't even release a public statement, it was just because of pre-existing XBL rules which they've removed now.
MS/Ninty deserve some credit for opening it up. I don't even own their systems and can admit to that.
No idea how the guy above can have 3 upvotes while I have 2 down votes when we've said basically the same thing. This site is cancer.
I think it would be cool and only own a Pro right now.
Major issue is the camera, like you said. Also in the switch to 3v3 there are no quick move options which is disappointing.
Exactly... Removing the dock would not make this any cheaper. It costs them $5 to make and they sell it for $99. Only Nintendo fans are loyal enough to justify paying for nothing. Price gouging at it's finest.
If they can upgrade games then why not? It'd make it a whole lot easier for me to buy one if they could add AA or higher resolution options. Just don't do it if there are only a few games that get upgraded- support the heavy hitters, even games that were already released, and it's worth it.
What the hell is wrong with this world? I mean, geez, a restaurant altercation? Just walk away.
Except that docking station is worth nowhere near $100. They'd be taking a loss to sell the console in that format. That docking station is worth $15 tops. Remove the docking station and they can sell it for $275.
Like M$ getting over by selling XB1S as a 4K console although NONE of the games were true 4K? And we all know games advertising 4K for PS4 are 1440p CB to 2160p. Next.
