I think both sides have been dumb but MS/Ninty deserve some credit for opening it up finally.

Best reason to skip is to save $499 and spend it on upgrading to a Pro, 4K HDR TV, or spend on PS4 games. What's the point in XB1X if it has no exclusives and crappy multiplats like AC-O NOW AT 4K SO YOU CAN SEE THE TURD 4X CLEARER.
They should have announced it at this E3 for the 20th anniversary. Really we know it's going to be a ways off, hundreds of materia to balance, monsters, fighting styles for like 9 characters, new system(atb, limit, materia option, part based destruction), etc, on top of the fact that the game is long as hell. I really don't mind if they release it cross-gen with PS5. I mean, what's the hurt in waiting an extra 6 months or year in 2019 to get far greater graphics options on PS5?...

Speak for yourself, God of War, Spidey, and Shadow of the Colossus all had 2018 release dates so I got what I wanted.
We already know BC is difficult to achieve. So is making a new game. Sony has simply put their efforts into going forward, while MS has put their efforts into going backwards.
It's simple really. Would you throw a couple hundred million into doing backwards compatibility, or making a new game? Sony has chosen the latter and it's paid off. Not so much for MS.

Considering Pro has far more exclusives, I'd say Pro wins "bang for your buck". XB1X is the niche enthusiast console.
MS- F. No AAA exclusive but Forza. High console price.
Ninty- C+. Cool announcement with Metroid but literally no trailer but an animated logo. Most of the same games they've been doing for 20 years straight. I'm buying one but still disappointed with those Jaggies on relatively light games graphically. Mostly talking.

Did I ever say they will have lesser performing games? I'm just saying that you're getting it for multiplats with a small res bump and I'd rather spend $499 on PS4 exclusives or upgrading my TV because they actually have exclusives.
