Two generation head start? PS1 came out one generation before Xbox which was PS2 gen. The gen after Xbox nearly matched sales. Sorry but this has nothing to do with PS4 magically being known by more people. Everyone whose heard of PS has heard of Xbox. It has to do with PS simply being better to most gamers. Period. PS didn't inherit a greater audience, it earned it. Period.

It's always been a 5 year cycle. Gen 7 was the outlier.
That's exactly why PS5 will be released in 2-3 years. The next batch of games is 2018(Spidey, Sotc, GoW, Detroit, Days Gone). The rest are likely 2019 games. If games have a 3-5 year development time, do you REALLY think they're going to release the next batch of PS4 games in 2021-2024? It would cannibalize PS5 sales if they did that.

Yeah. I'm hoping AMD doesn't have more delays like this. I want to upgrade in 2019 to Ryzen+/Navi, but not if they keep doing delays like this. I'd also like PS5 in 2019-2020, but again, with delays we might not see it until 2021.

A 4k portable is not possible at this time unless you're talking about a laptop with a GTX 1080. Even that would run $2-3 grand though.
